Hong Jo was kidnapped by Na Beom and was taken to some cave for a “soul marriage”. This time, however, she was prepared to deal with her stalker once and for all. Much to the kidnapper’s surprise, she was not unconscious and stated that the police had already been informed.

Realizing that Na Beom was well and genuinely deranged enough to kill her and then commit suicide, she tries to run away while the police arrive.

However, the police arrive too late, and Na Beom escapes with Hong Jo. When Sin Yu visits the ritual site, he guesses where Na Beom might have taken her.

Meanwhile, Hong Jo is forced by Na Beom to drink poison as a last-ditch effort to have her. In a toxin-induced coma, our female lead finally remembers her past life.

Sin Yu and the police arrive just in time to save her life. Hong Jo is taken to the hospital while her stalker is sent to the police station, where he admits not only to his crimes against Hong Jo but also to the murder of his wife.

Hong Jo regains consciousness in the hospital, which makes for a very emotional reunion. Sin Yu’s family also visits Hong Jo in the hospital, but their meeting is not quite as sweet because Sin Yu’s father still disapproves of their relationship. Sin Yu uses Eun Wol’s conception dream as an excuse to diffuse the situation, stunning his parents to silence.

The couple’s world seems to turn extra sweet as they spend their days together. In between this, Sam Sik halabeoji apologizes to Hong Jo and admits he was partly responsible for her state as he had saved Na Beom by providing him with a fake alibi.

Justice seems to be served to everyone as Na Yeon’s high school boyfriend releases the video of her admitting to everything online, leading to her and her father coming under fire from public opinion. Sin Yu takes this opportunity to hand in his resignation. He decides to represent his father’s company in court against the Mayor.

Na Yeon directs her anger towards Hong Jo, but she is no longer a weak woman and stands up against her.

The Mayor and the CEO of Haeum face prosecution as Kwon Jae Gyeong testifies against them. He later admits to Hong Jo that he would use this opportunity to further his career in the Blue House.

Miss Ma warms up to Mr Gong when she sees him struggling with food due to his broken hand. He later tries to re-establish their relationship by visiting her in her house.

Miss Ma, too, shows signs of warming up to him again when she mentions she can reserve the park as their wedding venue during a team dinner as a joke. All ends well for the couple as they finally get married later in the show.

Their wedding provides refreshing comic relief, with Hong Jo’s colleagues performing a song at their wedding and Sin Yu ending up catching the bouquet in place of his girlfriend.

Destined with You has gained a reputation for beautiful scenes, and the next pick-toned shots seem to highlight Sin Yu and Hong Jo’s long, happy future together. The 300-year-long curse truly concludes as Sin Yu is cured of his illness.

Sin Yu’s mother and his old friend, Kim Yook, also find happiness as they rekindle their passion for acting. Sin Yu’s father comes to the set with a coffee truck as a token of apology. After the divorce scare, his attitude towards his wife changed drastically.

Sam Sik, who provided a fake Alibi for Na Beom, was facing investigation for this as well as being an accomplice in the kidnapping of Hong Jo. However, Sin Yu decides to work as his lawyer for the sake of his grandchild, Yu Ram.

As Mr Kwon warmly bids goodbye to Hong Jo, leaving the empty first floor causes concern for her. Sin Yu prepares a special surprise for Hong Jo by moving into the first floor, which means they live together.

The couple prepares to return Sin Yu’s parents and Eun Wol to their new house. The food they cook tastes so terrible that it makes everyone admit they are meant for each other, down to their taste buds.

Eun Wol takes this opportunity to propose their marriage so that Hong Jo’s pregnancy won’t cause a problem. As the last twist in the tale, it turns out that it was not Hong Jo who was pregnant but Sin Yu’s parents who were expecting a daughter.

Sin Yu takes Hong Jo out to the sea To meet her father and to ask for his permission for his daughter’s hand in marriage. The couple buried the box with the spells that tied their fates together.

In a post-credit scene, we have answered a question that has confused a lot of viewers. “Who buried the box of spells in the first place?”. As it turns out, Sin Yu buried the box in both his lifetimes.

Destined to Be With You brings back the fluffy Rom-com we have all been craving without being too cartoonish. The addition of an unexpected supernatural, almost horror feel hooked us from the first scene. The transformation of the different characters has been something to look out for.

The frequent twists in the story kept us all on the edge of our seats. The season finale gives us a poetic end, with it all ending at the same place with the same people who started the story 300 years ago.
