Tokyo Revengers Season 3 Episode 2 Recap: What is the S-62 Generation?

We see Mikey and Draken taking the stage and Draken announces that the emergency meeting of the Tokyo Manji Gang will now begin. Draken declares that yesterday, members of Toman were attacked all over Tokyo and that it was the work of Tenjiku, a gang from Yokohama.
Draken then asks the First Division to come forward, as they were targetted first. Chifuyu then tells Draken and Mikey that the ones who attacked them called themselves Team Mochizuki. Smiley further explains that it is a team run by Kanji Mochizuki, the ex-leader of Jugem and that they are probably Tenjiku’s main force. Everyone in Toman is shocked to hear that the name Kanji Mochizuki is from the mysterious “S-62 Generation”.
This episode does now reveal much about the S-62 Generation. But, the S-62 Generation refers to a specific group of characters who were born in the year 1987 within the story’s timeline. This group is notorious for their violent tendencies and involvement in serious criminal activities, earning them the title of the “Vicious Generation”. The S-62 Generation consists of six individuals:
- Izana Kurokawa (Leader)
- Rindou Haitani
- Ran Haitani
- Kanji Mochizuki
- Yasuhiro Mucho
- Shion Madarame
For more information about the S-62 Generation, refer to the Tokyo Revengers Fandom page.
Back to the scene, Takemichi is wondering what the S-62 Generation is. Takashi Mitsuya then reveals that their main force isn’t just Mocchi. The Haitani Brothers are also part of Tenjiku, who are also from the S-62 Generation.
Draken tells Mikey that the other guys who got beat up said the same thing that Shion Madarame, who is also one of the S-62 Generation attacked them.
In other words, Tenjiku is the gang made up of the S-62 Generation guys, who normally wouldn’t have teamed up, but are together because of their grudge against Toman. Mikey then declares that he won’t let Toman keep getting beat and that they are going to invade Yokohama next.
Everyone is happy to hear this news but Takemichi thinks that this fight is also a part of Kisaki’s plan. Chifuyu tells Takemichi that they cannot stop this fight and that Takemichi has to go back into the future to gather some information so that they can be more prepared for the coming fight.
Takemichi rushes towards Naoto’s house to time leap into the future where he meets his girlfriend Hinata Tachibana and now Takemichi is even more determined to save everyone, no matter how many attempts it takes.

In the future, Takemichi told the adult Naoto every new thing he learned in the past and everything he had thought over. Naoto concludes that if Kisaki really can travel through time, then they must kill Kisaki because it’s pointless if Kisaki keeps tampering every time Takemichi change the past and killing him in the past is the only way.
Naoto also concludes that to Kisaki, Takemichi is also tampering with things so killing Takemichi in the past would be the easiest thing to do. 12 years in the past, Kisaki is trying to use Tenjiku to take over Toman but, in the future, the police don’t even know the name Tenjiku and Kisaki is dead.
Takemichi then notices the name “Izana Kurokawa” on Naoto’s information board and remembers that Kakucho told him that Izana Kurokawa is the leader of Tenjiku. Takemichi asks Naoto about Izana, to which Naoto tells Takemichi that Izana is Toman’s top brass and that he used to be the leader of BLACK DRAGON. Takemichi tells Naoto that Izana is Tenjiku’s leader.
Takemichi then explains everything about Tenjiku to Naoto, including the S-62 Generation. Naoto tells Takemichi that he will check about Izana Kurokawa and Tenjiku on the police information net. Takemichi said that he would do some digging himself too.
Takemichi is confused about where he should look for clues. Takemichi then visits the church where he, along with Chifuyu, Mitsuya, Hakkai, Mikey and Draken defeated the tenth-generation BLACK DRAGON leader, Taiju Shiba in the past, during the Christmas Showdown arc.
Takemichi wonders that after that fight, he thought it would change things for the better in the future. He stopped Yuzuha from killing Taiju and BLACK DRAGON fell under First Division’s command. He even managed to kick Kisaki out of Toman.
But the future didn’t get one bit better. In fact, it’s gotten worse. Takemichi then shouts inside the church wondering what he is supposed to do. A man sitting next to him tells Takemichi to keep it down.
That man later says that since his brother died, he has been coming to this church every day. We then see that the man who was sitting next to Takemichi was none other than the tenth-generation BLACK DRAGON leader, Taiju Shiba.
Tokyo Revengers Season 3 Episode 2 Ending Explained: Is Kisaki Tetta dead in the future?

Takemichi is shocked to see Taiju there, but he is also relieved at the same time because now he can get some answers. Takemichi asks Tauji if they can talk for a bit. Takemichi and Taiju then meet up with Naoto and they all sit together at a restaurant.
Taiju agrees to trade intel. Takemichi asks if Taiju knows about Tenjiku and Taiju knows about it. Naoto also reveals that he found some reports with the Kanagawa Police. Takemichi asks Taiju how Izana Kurokawa became the leader of BLACK DRAGON and also a part of Toman. Taiju tells Takemichi that he has got the wrong order.
Taiju then asks if Takemichi knew who founded the BLACK DRAGON. Taiju then answers his own question by saying that the first generation BLACK DRAGON leader was Shinichiro Sano, Mikey’s older brother.
Takemichi was shocked to hear this information. When Shinichiro led the tough dudes of Tokyo, he was always a brilliant sight. The original BLACK DRAGON was legendary. That was carried on by the second and third generations and beyond.
Then the eighth-generation leader, Izana Kurokawa, took command. This means that Taiju was before Taiju and also that the eighth generation was before Toman was formed. Taiju further explains that three years after Izana Kurokawa left BLACK DRAGON, he formed Yokohama’s Tenjiku and fought with Toman.
That was the Kanto Incident. Takemichi remembers Kisaki telling him in the past that the “Kanto Incident” had begun. Taiju further reveals that it was a drawn-out fight that ended in an unexpected deal. At the top was Manjiro Sano. Second in command was Kisaki Tetta. Third in command was Izana Kurokawa.
Toman and Tenjiku combined into one to create the vilest gang in history. Takemichi then says that Kisaki is dead in the future. Taiju asks Naoto if Kisaki really died, to which Naoto reveals that he looked into Izana Kurokawa again and found out that he’s had influence over the police.

He found evidence that records had been revised. Izana let Kisaki escape abroad, as Kisaki was a suspect in various crimes. A corpse was prepared to fake Kisaki’s death. This means that Kisaki is alive in the future.
Tauji further explains that Mikey is dead and Kisaki’s gone abroad. So in reality, the leader of Toman now is Izana Kurokawa. Takemichi asks why Izana is the leader of Toman, to which Taiju tells Takemichi that Manjiro Sano had even greater trust in Izana Kurokawa than in Ken Ryuguji.
As the conversation was starting to get interesting, it was interrupted by Inupi and Koko who now work under Izana Kurokawa and are a part of Toman. They were there to abduct Taiju under Izana’s orders. Taiju tells Takemichi to escape with Naoto as he fights off Inupi, Koko and their men. As they both make their escape, Taiju starts beating Toman members like they are nothing.
While running, Takemichi wonders if Inupi and Koko could be the key to figuring out who Izana Kurokawa is and starts to go back to the restaurant to get some answers but a gun appears from the alley next to where Takemichi is and we see that Kisaki Tetta is holding that gun.
As Kisaki is about to shoot Takemichi, Naoto comes in between, taking the hit for Takemichi. Naoto tells Takemichi to turn for his life. After that, Izana Kurokawa appears there and tells Kisaki that Naoto Tachibana was supposed to be his to kill.
Kisaki explains the situation to Izana. Izana looks at wounded Naoto and Takemichi and says that they killed his Mikey. Izana then tells Kakucho to shoot Takemichi. Kakucho hesitates a bit but then shoots Takemichi.
Izana, Kisaki and Kakucho start to leave while Naoto tells Takemichi to go back into the past and that Takemichi is the definition of a true hero. Naoto declares that this will be their final handshake as they both are about to die and now Takemichi won’t be able to return back to the future. As Takemichi and Naoto are about to handshake, we see that Kisaki turns back suggesting that he knows Takemichi is about to time leap.
