After almost six months of wait Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War arc is back with its Cour 2. The first episode of Cour 2 was released today and the name of this episode was “The Last 9 Days!”
Aptly titled “The Last 9 Days,” this captivating episode signifies the beginning of an intense countdown that would determine the fate of characters and the culmination of long-standing storylines.
“The Last 9 Days” episode brings a new phase to the story. It reveals a tense and critical period that will shape the outcome.
The stakes are high, and every decision carries great importance. Readers are immediately drawn into a world filled with uncertainty, where the choices made by the characters will have significant consequences.
This episode skillfully builds tension, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The countdown to a decisive event creates a sense of urgency and impending doom.
With each passing moment, the pressure increases, heightening emotions and adding complexity to the characters’ struggles.
Why did Uryū Ishida join Yhwach?
Why did Uryū Ishida join Yhwach?This episode starts at the main entrance of the Soul King’s Royal Palace. We see Ichigo Kurosaki talking with Ichibē Hyōsube, the commanding Shinigami of the Royal Guard, holding the title “Monk of Perception”.
They both talk about how the Soul Society has suffered heavy damage and how Ichibē and his Royal Guard did not help them.
Ichibē tells Ichigo that part of their duty is to simply watch and that they also must train Ichigo. Ichibē warns Ichigo that the Quincy army will come again and Ichigo shows his gratitude towards Ichibē and starts to leave.
Ichibē stops Ichigo and tells him that if he goes to the Soul Society now, he won’t be able to defeat Yhwach and will die.
We see that in the Cathedral of Silbern all of Yhwach’s army, Stern Ritters is present and is waiting for Yhwach. Yhwach enters and everyone salutes him.
Yhwach tells his Stern Ritters that a thousand years ago Quincies were savagely attacked by the Soul Reapers where they lost many comrades and their very existence was threatened.
They all survived hiding in the Schatten Bereich, enduring humiliation and waiting out a thousand years. Yhwach announces that the final battle will soon begin and they will annihilate the Soul Society and the Soul Reapers.
Yhwach tells his Stern Ritters that he has one more announcement to make and calls Uryū Ishida to the stage. Everyone is wondering who Uryū is and why he is on the same stage as Yhwach, their King.
Yhwach tells them that Uryū Ishida is the last surviving Quincy in this world and that Uryū Ishida will be his successor.
Everyone is shocked by this announcement and wonders why Yhwach took this decision. Yhwach tells his Stern Ritters that there is no need for any concern and that they will soon learn firsthand his powers in the battles to come.
Bambietta Basterbine gets pissed by this and calls a certain man to her room while splitting him in half later. Her other comrades call her out for this and tell her that Bazz-B is causing a commotion.
Bambietta Basterbine joins Bazz-B with her friends and starts discussing the shocking announcement of Uryū Ishida as their future king.
As Bazz-B was leaving with anger Jugram Haschwalth entered the room and stopped Bazz-B. Bazz-B tells Jugram that he thought Jugram will succeed as their future king after Yhwach.
Jugram tells Bazz-B that Yhwach’s words are absolute and that he cannot object to them. Bazz-B gets angry and is about to attack Jugram but they were stopped by Askin Nakk Le Vaar who told them to keep it together.
We then see Yhwach pouring his blood into a cup and giving it to Uryū. Uryū asks why is he Yhwach’s successor to which Yhwach tells Uryū that it is obvious why he is choosing Uryū as his successor.
Yhwach asks Uryū why is he still alive to which Uryū remembers all the dead Quincies and how he is the only one left standing.
Yhwach then tells Uryū that Uryū is the only Quincy in history to ever survive the Auswählen and that there is a reason that Uryū survived.
Uryū tells Yhwach that the day he lost his mother, he had been wondering why his mother died while he survived and the answer was written in his grandfather’s diary.
Based on Yhwach’s words he confirmed all of this to be true, that Quincies and Soul Reapers can never get along and who Uryū is.
Uryū tells Yhwach that he severed his ties with everything to join Yhwach and to bury the Soul Reapers. With this, Uryū drinks Yhwach’s blood and completes the ritual which will awaken Uryū’s powers soon. Yhwach bestows a Schrift on Uryū with the same letter “A” as Yhwach’s.
What is The Last 9 Days?
What is The Last 9 Days?In Hueco Mundo, we see Kisuke Urahara checking the locations of Orihime Inoue and Yasutora Sado with a device he made inside a camp.
Urahara is happy that Orihime got to the location safely. Orihime and Sado discuss a few things and talk about starting their training as they don’t have much time left.
We then see Ichigo Kurasaki with his Zanpakutō and Ichibē Hyōsube telling him that he needs to surpass that of a Soul Reaper to defeat Yhwach.
Ichigo sees a wooden sword in his hand and asks Ichibē what it is for. The room they were in just now suddenly starts to change and Ichibē tells Ichigo that he is in a sacred place which they cannot enter without the permission of the Soul King. Ichibē tells Ichigo that he shall test to see if Ichigo is worthy to surpass that of a Soul Reaper.
We then see Shunsui Kyōraku worrying about Ichigo and wondering if the Royal Guards are acting in the best interest of the Seireitei.
We then see Shinji Hirako asking Hiyori Sarugaki for some help to which she unwillingly obliges. We then see Rukia Kuchiki and Renji Abarai standing still, facing each other.
Rukia then receives a call from Tenjirō Kirinji who tells her that his brother Byakuya Kuchiki has finally recovered. We then see a glimpse of Byakuya in the Kirinden and looks like he is ready to fight again.
We then see Ichibē meeting Rukia and Renji and asking them to train with him in the back room.
After that, we see that Shunsui Kyōraku visits Ichigo’s classmates in Karakura Town and tells them that if Ichigo comes back with a power that can affect the World of the Living then he will never come back.
But the chances of this happening are 1 in 10,000 or even less. But in case this happens Shunsui gives each of his classmates a Soul Ticket through which they can visit him inside the Soul Society.
We then see Orihime and Sado discussing the peace inside the Hueco Mundo, but suddenly a dark power surrounds the whole Seireitei.
We then see Yhwach standing at the top with Uryū Ishida and Jugram Haschwalth. The Soul Reapers of the Research and Development find out that the whole Seireitei is gone.
Yhwach declares that the invasion is complete and asks Uryū if he knows Kaiser Gesang. Uryū tells the Kaiser Gesang that he knows:
“The confirmed Quincy King regains his pulses after 900 years. His Mind after 90 years. His strength after 9 years.”
Yhwach tells Uryū that there is more to the song and starts telling us the actual piece:
“The confirmed Quincy King regains his pulses after 900 years. His Mind after 90 years. His strength after 9 years. And the world in 9 days.”
With this Yhwach declares that these are the last 9 days of the world.
