Heavenly Delusion Episode 12 Recap And Ending Explained: How Did Robin Became The President Of The Ministry Of Reconstruction?

With the Heavenly Delusion anime slowly coming to an end, things seem to be ramping up quite a bit.

In episode 11, we had some major plot developments, with the head manager of the facility showing her true colours and the doctor planning some coup d’etat with the assistant manager against the facility.

We also learn that they are trying to genetically engineer the upcoming human generation to overcome their mortality and achieve their goal of elevating the human race and building a paradise for them.

They are using this facility to experiment with these genetically engineered artificial human children to perfect their formula.

With so much going on in the narrative and so many things being revealed simultaneously, people had high expectations for episode 12, and it’s safe to say that they delivered beautifully.

So let’s just jump into the recap.

Heavenly Delusion Episode 12 Recap

The episode starts with Tokio having a strange dream where she has lost all her pants and is late for a test.

When she opens her dorm room door to go to Mimihime to ask her for spare pants, she is greeted with the sight of all the other children cheering at a robot who is hyping them up to go outside.

The ominous atmosphere of the whole dream seems to be a premonition of a drastic change that will shake their peaceful lives in the facility.

Mimihime, Taka, Anzu, and Shiro are having breakfast outside while talking about the upcoming test when suddenly all the 5th years start chanting “danger danger” simultaneously.

There seems to be a technical problem with the Mina system, which controls the entire facility.

No one can access the system, and all authorised personnel are locked inside the facility when the building suddenly starts to collapse.

In the outside world, Maru and Kiruko finally managed to get to the source of the smoke they had seen the night before.

To their surprise, it is a booming market full of people who use a new type of currency made of wood.

Upon further investigation, they found out that this place is managed by the “Ministry of Reconstruction.” The mythical group that was rumoured to be behind a lot of the kidnappings of engineers could help them rebuild the old world.

The duo decides to visit the Ministry of Reconstruction to have them registered as visitors and collect the money provided by the ministry that they could spend in the market.

On the ministry’s registration form, Kiruko puts her name as Haruki and wonders what she should put in the gender section.

It seems as though she still hasn’t come to terms with her new identity after the operation.

They later learn from the staff that the person running the ministry is Robin, the same person Kiruko has been looking for all this time.

The staff schedules an appointment for them to meet up with Robin at the “Large Filtration Plant,” which was, weirdly enough, exactly where the Takahara Academy’s Ibaraki facility was.

Kiruko was ecstatic to have finally found him. But Maru seems to be a little down somehow. He is worried about Kiruko visiting the Large Filtration Plant alone, but she promises that she will be back and asks him to wait for her.

At the Large Filtration Plant, when she finally sees Robin, he seems to have a look of terror on his face after seeing her.

After that, the scene cuts to the children inside the facility, where Mimihime and the others barely manage to escape a falling boulder.

They rush inside the facility to seek shelter from the collapsing infrastructure with the other kids, but they are also curious about the giant hole that emerged in the facility’s outer wall.

So they instruct the 5th years to get to the pool area, which is the safest place in the compound.

Meanwhile, Mimihime, Taka, Anzu, and Shiro will go and investigate the hole.

Kona decides to stay behind with the kids and look for Tokio, who is still being taken care of after her pregnancy.

Back to Kiruko and Robin: They finally get to talk in private after meeting for the first time in years.

Kiruko is super excited to see Robin, and Robin also seems to be acting fine after the initial terror we saw in his eyes.

Kiruko explains to him all about what happened between her and the doctor and how this body is Kiruko’s, but the mind inside her is Haruki’s.

It also turns out that Robin seems to have known about who the doctor is. It is a man named Sakoto, but they have lost contact over the years.

Robin tells her about the filtration plant. It was owned by the Takahara Academy before the great disaster.

They used to genetically engineer plants here to make them edible and resistant to harsh climates.

That’s why it was the perfect place to start rebuilding society because the seeds left in the plant were very easy to grow after fixing the fields, and this was their main source of food.

Kiruko is offered a warm bath after their long chat, which she gladly accepts. But after her bath, she is puzzled to see that her clothes are no longer there.

She asks Robin for her clothes, but he tells her that he has warmed the room, so she can go in like that. There seems to be an ominous undertone to this whole interaction.

Inside the facility, Mimihime and the others hesitantly crawl outside the facility through the hole in the wall, and they are shocked to see the massive world outside the facility for the first time.

Mimihime exclaims in astonishment about how big the ceiling is when talking about the sky.

On the other hand, Kiruko is handcuffed and forced into a sexual act by Robin.

It seems he wants some reaction out of Kiruko, so he is constantly provoking her as he assaults her.

The facility is finally crumbling down, and the assistant manager seems to be behind all of this.

The head manager was last seen running away from the collapsing building, but it doesn’t seem like she managed to get away, although we have no confirmation so far.

With the children finally out of the facility, there is a whole new world and a whole new set of problems awaiting them.

Their next step is going to decide what the future holds for them. Will their paths ever collide with Maru and Kiruko’s? That remains to be seen.

There was a lot of joy in the hearts of fans to see Kiruko finally find Robin, and we were hoping to finally get some answers as to what truly happened to her.

But all of that hope came crashing down in the last scene when Robin started to assault her sexually.

This show of disgusting behaviour was something that nobody expected from Robin. This gut-wrenching scene has left viewers in shock and horror.

But Robin’s constant provoking of Haruki during the assault seems to have raised a lot of questions among the audience as well.

Why did Robin do this? Is he just a sadistic psychopath? Was he just putting up a facade in front of Haruki and the children in the orphanage before it was destroyed? His true intentions are yet to be seen.
