According to director James Gunn, the original Guardians of the Galaxy members will not return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
It indicates that a new group of Guardians will appear.
We already know that the Guardians made it through the film’s events.
But Star-Lord, also known as Peter Quill, left the group because he had to meet with his old grandfather, whom he did not see since the time Yondu Udonta kidnapped him from the earth.
But the most important question that the fans have now will Peter Quill, aka the Starlord, return to the Guardians of the Galaxy after the end of Volume 3? Well, read along to know the details.
Will Star-Lord Return After Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3?
Chris Pratt’s best performance was as Star-Lord. This role cemented his place among Hollywood’s A-listers.
Since then, he has enjoyed several successes, including his MCU role, starring in four $1 billion films for Universal.
Yet, he recently made a comeback as Peter Quill.
It left MCU fans wondering when they would get to see Star-Lord following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Peter Quill’s plans from Marvel Studios are unknown, but we know they still need to be finalized.
Star-Lord will return in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) following the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s last post-credits sequence as it states, “The legendary Starlord will return”.
Therefore Star-Lord’s tale is not yet finished. There is a good chance that he may feature in other MCU films in the future.
Maybe the end of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is still up in the air about what the MCU has in store for this ragtag collection of misfits. After that, let’s consider if Peter Quill will rejoin the Guardians.

Why did Star-Lord leave the Guardians of the Galaxy?
Because of the events in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, we got to observe Rocket Raccoon and Peter Quill going through challenging personal times.
The rocket was still unable to leave his past behind. As a result of his continued sadness over the loss of his Gamora, Peter was drinking himself to death every day. But per the fact, the new Gamora was elsewhere in the cosmos living her own life.
The entire team agreed to embark on a quest to save Rocket from certain death after Adam Warlock wounded him.
At the same time, the mission’s high point was learning about Rocket’s background.
Peter’s personal life was also one of the story’s main focal points.
Peter’s sister Mantis was aware of his feelings during the Gamora incident.
She advised him to take a break and visit his grandfather to face his history before facing his destiny.
But since this was a sensitive subject for Quill, he always attempted to avoid discussing his history or his feelings with the Guardians.
But, much as Rocket avoided discussing his past experiences with them.
Mantis did her best to convince her brother that he, too, needed to face his history.
She even attempted to compare Peter to a frog that kept trying to jump from lily pad to lily pad rather than learning to swim by using Drax.
After the fight with the High Evolutionary, Peter decides to let Gamora go by telling himself that the Gamora he knew was no longer there.
Even the new Gamora is seeking her path in life rather than becoming the Gamora Quill desired.
That was the moment he realized what he had to do.
Peter summoned a gathering of the founding Guardians of the Galaxy.
He wants to inform them that he will leave the team to visit his grandfather and face his history.
He was like the Rocket in that Yondu abducted him when he was eight.
Since then, he has never attempted to address his history.
Because it made him think of the things he had run away from after his mother passed away many years ago, Quill was frightened to meet his grandfather.
As a result, he decided to travel back to Earth to visit his elderly grandpa, his grandpa, who was to see him even though it had been years since they had last seen each other.
But Peter was trying to settle into his new life on Earth.
He even mentioned the possibility of seeking a job there.
He only left the Guardians of the Galaxy.
He never indicated it was permanent when he announced his departure from the group.
Instead, he explained to them that he needed space to face his past rather than avoid it.
He will still find a way to return to the Guardians because they are still his family.

What Will Be Star-Lord’s Next Adventure Now? What will be Peter’s future now on Earth?
Of course, a message flashed on the screen after the concluding post-credits scene.
“The legendary Star-Lord’s adventure will return”
Thus this means Peter Quill won’t be leaving Marvel Studios anytime soon.
Since Peter Quill is still alive and a Guardian of the Galaxy at heart, he will always be available to assist the cosmos.
Peter’s future is something we are still determining.
It is because James Gunn, who directed the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, has completed his final Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
He will now concentrate on the DCEU as the new leader of Marvel’s competing fictitious comic book universe.
We’re not sure about Chris Pratt’s decision about the status of his role.
But other performers declared they would only return for another Guardians film with Gunn at the helm.
The following Guardians, introduced in the mid-credits scene in Vol. 3, would receive more attention.
It is because a new Guardians of the Galaxy film were to be produced without Gunn in the lead.
The potential strategy will differ from what viewers have grown accustomed to in the first three films.
And because of this, it will be even harder to imagine Peter Quill in a Guardians of the Galaxy film without Gunn’s signature style and sense of humour.
Thus, if Star-Lord were to make a comeback, he would play a minor part that wouldn’t take the spotlight away from the new Guardians.
With more Earth-based Marvel Studios films in the pipeline, there’s a strong chance he’ll get more involved in the planet’s affairs now.
Thus, even though Quill won’t return for the Guardians of the Galaxy film, the Star-Lord character may still appear in other MCU productions.
It also includes the Avengers series.
