Aki’s death: Does Aki die in Chainsaw Man? How does Aki gets killed?
Yes! Aki indeed dies in Chainsaw Man anime.
It happens in Chainsaw Man Manga Chapter 78, “Snowball Fight.”
As The Public Safety Department prepares to take down the Gun Devil in the Gun Devil arc, Aki is scared for Denji and Power.
He doesn’t want them to get killed by the Gun Devil plus, he also comes to know from the Future Devil that both he and Power will die at the hands of Denji.
Aki was more concerned about Denji and Power; he wanted Denji and Power not to get hurt or die at the hands of the Gun Devil.
As a result, Aki meets with Makima and asks her to save and protect Denji and Power by any means possible.
During his discussion with Makima, she reveals to Aki that she is the control devil and can stop the Gun Devil alone, but she would need his help and forces Aki to contract with her.
Then Makima faces Gun Devil with Aki, which is one of her biggest mistakes and ends with Aki’s death.
When she tries to fight Gun Devil, the devil attacks Makima with brutal gunshots.
Makima tries to use her powers to stop those shots, but one of those bullets hits her and Aki, and both Aki and Makima die immediately.
This was Makima’s 29th death in the manga.
Makima then used the contract of Aki, Tendo and Kurose and the powers of Spider Devil and Angel Devil to bypass her death and face Gun Devil.
But she is not strong enough to defeat the Gun Devil; hence Makima escapes the location leaving the body of Aki.
Aki’s dead body then gets contracts with the bullets of Gun Devil, and he turns into Gun Fiend.
Gun Fiend then attacks Denji, and a huge fight breaks between the two at Aki’s residence.
With much difficulty, Denji managed to defeat Aki’s gun fiend.
In the end, Denji also learned that it was Makima who used Aki as a contract to save herself against the fight with Gun Devil, and she was responsible for his friend’s death.
After that, in the final confrontation in Chainsaw Man anime (Control Devil Arc), Denji finally put an end to Makima by defeating her and consuming her.
Can Aki be brought back to life in Chainsaw Man?
No! Aki cannot be brought back to life because reason being when Aki was in his human form, he died fighting Gun Devil.
After Aki died, his corpse contracted Gun Devil’s bullet, which turned him into a Fiend.
The key difference between a Fiend and a Devil is that Fiends are corpses possessed by Devils, whereas hybrids and Devil powers are devils merging with a human or letting humans use their powers in exchange for something.
As Aki becomes Gun Fiend and attacks Denji, Denji manages to defeat the Gun Fiend; therefore, Aki can be considered dead and would not return to life anymore.
He dies in the Chapter 78th of Chainsaw Man manga titled “Snowball Fight”.
Therefore what the Future devil stated to Aki earlier became true.
His death was tragic and, indeed, was one of the most brutal ones.
