Under the Queen’s Umbrella, as the name suggests, the show depicts the extent to which a mother would go to protect her children.
If you have ever watched a period drama, then you must know the thirst for the throne leads people to turn away from their own, even trying to plot against them. So you always need to figure out who to trust.
Starring Kim Hye-soo as Hwa-ryeong, a poised and graceful Queen, the drama reveals the story of a mother who stands in the way of the miseries of her children, being the ladder to help them rise to power without falling prey to the viciousness of the palace people and not letting her children pay for her missed steps.

Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 10 Recap: The fates of the Princes are yet to be decided.
Episode 10 starts with Queen Hwa- ryeong having a not-so-casual conversation with the consort Hwang (Ok Ja Yeon), asking about the whereabouts of the royal physician Kwon O Gyeong.
Unable to get any information, she tasks her court lady to find out the relationship between the physician and the Chief State Councillor.
But before she can proceed any further, she’s interrupted by a court lady regarding Grand Prince Muan, whom she finds bedding a Courtesan named Cho Wol.
Being displeased, she confronts Muan regarding his affair. When the latter proposes a marriage of himself and Cho-Wol, the Queen gets outraged and demands questions from the Courtesan.
On being asked, Cho Wol takes up all the blame and asks the Queen to let her have the final decision.
The scene thereby leads to flashbacks where Cho Wol’s mother is standing in her soiled clothes at the front door of a Nobleman, claiming that she was raped and the latter denying it.

The Queen came to her rescue then, which helped Cho Wol lead a good life today.
The scene then shifts to Gyeong U and the princes. The princes, mustering all their strength, read the documents to find out Gyeong’s secrets.
They find out that Gyeong has laundered money only to pay the Righteous Granaries of Uichang and help build a cooperative community. The princes acknowledged that Gyeong was working for the people, and a pleased Gyeong agreed to go with them.
Meanwhile, in the courtroom, Hwang plots words and ways to drag Hwa ryeong down her post and place her own son as the crown prince.
But her plan to convey Gyeseong’s horrible secret fails when the scroll she had handed over to the king turns out to be a portrait.
On the other hand, her plan to kill Gyeseong and make it look like suicide fails when an archer saves the former from getting hanged. Gyesong tries to warn the king of the rebellion Ham Deok is trying to start.
The setting takes a milder approach, where Seongnam and Chang Ho share their feelings and wishes for a future together.
Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 10 ending explained: Who shall win to become the next Crown Prince?
After failing in her conspiracy and getting brutally humiliated in the court Consort, Hwang is demoted to the lowest rank of all concubines. But she isn’t someone to accept defeat easily.
Instead, she pleads for her son to become the next Crown Prince.
Queen Hwa ryeong now aims at Queen Dowager.
Trying to find proof of the latter’s involvement in slandering Seong-nam, she plans her moves carefully.
The Taekhyeon is now left with three princes, Uiseong, Bogeom and Seongnam.
The final evaluation is yet to happen. This final evaluation is supposed to be made by the scholars of Sunkyungkwan as per the King’s order.
The King has decided well, for he wants neither the princes nor the results to be corrupted by the officials in power.
So who will win the quest? Stay tuned to find more about it in the upcoming episode of “Under the Queen’s Umbrella,” i.e. Episode 11, which will air this Saturday (19.10.2022) at 23.00 KST on Netflix.
