See Season 3: Did Kofun blind himself? Why did Kofun blind himself? Did Kofun become the new King of Pennsa?

Created by Stephen Knight, The See Season 3 just finished its much-awaited season 3 finale, and the season was an epic piece of art; everything you could imagine in a show, from emotion, action, and drama, contained all of them.

The See is based on the story of a different world where we see humanity has gone to exile after a virus has wiped out their existence.
The story then continues with the plot after 600 years of this dreadful incident.

Most of humanity is either dead or remnants, and the descendants lost the ability to see.

One of the questions that the fans have after the ending of See Season 3 is, what happened to Kofun? Did Kofun blind himself? And why did he blind himself?

Did Kofun blind himself? Why did Kofun blind himself? Did Kofun become the new King of Pennsa?

Yes! Kofun blinded himself to become the new leader of Pennsa after his mother, Maghra.

In See Season 3 climax, Maghra confronts Sibeth and kills her by stabbing her in the neck with a knife.

Tormada’s troops charged Maghra for killing Tormada’s wife, Sibeth, but soon Ranger and Baba Voss intervened and started slicing all of Tormada’s army; Kofun, Maghra, Haniwa, and Wren also joined.

When Tormada throws a bomb towards Baba Voss, it ends up injuring him. Ranger takes that point as an advantage to catch Tormada off guard and ends up blowing Tormada off and then stabs Tormada in the eyes to finish him off completely. Ranger finally takes his revenge against Tormada.

When Baba Voss regains his consciousness, he realises that there are still soldiers present, so to save his loved ones, he decides to sacrifice himself by reaching the point where all the bombs are kept together so that he can explode all them together, killing all the enemy soldiers at once.

In the end, Baba Voss sacrifices himself and saves everyone by killing all the soldiers with the massive explosion.

After the end of the big fight, Baba Voss, Tormada, and Sibeth all die, and we go ahead one year and see Kofun has finally become the father of Wolffe; the child was born blind.

After one year, a committee was held where Nevla led the Trivantian people, and it was discussed in that meeting that all the sighted were a threat them.

So to keep the peace over the realm, the people who were having the sight needed to be outlawed; although Maghra and Haniwa tried their best to stop that from happening in Pennsa, there was no luck. It was decided that the peace must be kept at all costs; hence the people with sights need to be outlawed.

Therefore, as the peace was established, Kofun decided to end the sense of his sight to be the new leader of Pennsa.

Haniwa and Wren, on the other hand, decide to leave to explore humanity’s past with the map they got earlier in the season, which indicates some secret locations of libraries. (reference link: The Review Geek)

As they go on their journey, they come across an old museum where they are come across by many sighted people, the leader of the group, Michaela, invites them together with open arms.
