How many dragons were killed in Dance of Dragons? How many dragons survived the Dance of Dragons?
In House of the Dragon, The civil war Dance of the Dragons is known as the extinction of most of the Targaryen family.
After the death of King Viserys, few Targaryens supported Aegon II’s claim rather than Queen Rhaenyra, whom King Viserys had named as his heir.
After the death of King Viserys, a civil war was triggered, where The Greens, aka Queen’s party, the faction of House Targaryen loyal to the rise of Aegon II as King of the Seven Kingdoms, were opposed by The Blacks, aka The Party of the Princess, the loyalists who supported Rhaenyra Targaryen’s claim as the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
King Viserys Targaryen’s death was just a starring of the Dance of the Dragon conflict, and after the end of Dance of the Dragons, most dragons in the Targaryen family were extinct, and only four dragons managed to survive.

How many dragons were killed in Dance of Dragons? How many dragons survived the Dance of Dragons?
A total of 20 dragons were alive before the Dance of the Dragons, and after the end of the Dance of the Dragons, only four dragons were alive.
During Dance of the Dragons, below Dragons were alive:
Syrax, Vhagar, Caraxes, Meleyes, Sunfyre, Silverwing, Vermithor, Seasmoke, Grey Ghost, Cannibal, Dreamfyre, Tessarion, Shrykos, Morghul, Stormcloud, Vermax, Arrax, Tyraxes, Moondancer, Sheepstealer. (20 Dragons)
At the end of the Dance, the known living dragons were the following: Silverwing, Morning, Sheepstealer, and Cannibal. (4 Dragons)
So the Dance was essentially an extinction event for the Targaryen dragon: Syrax, Vhagar, Caraxes, Sunfyre, Arrax, Tyraxes, Vermithor, Vermax, Dreamfyre, Greyghost, Seasmoke, Morghul, Shrykos, Tessarion, Moondancer, Meleys, and Stormcloud (17 Dragons) all died during the Dance.
Only four dragons survived the Dance of the Dragons: Sheepstealer, Silverwing, Morning and the Cannibal.

Sheepstealer
After Dance of the Dragons ended, Sheepstealer was last seen with Nettles flying over the Bay of Crabs.
Nettles was Dragonseed (a term to describe a bastard of House Targaryen), flew off on the dragon Sheepstealer.
Nettles was last noticed on her dragon flying over the Bay of Crabs. The northern shore runs along the Vale of Arryn.
One of the old mountain clans of the Vale, the Painted Dogs, it is said that the clan used to worship some fire witch and her dragon.
It’s possible that Nettles hid out here, and the fire witch might be Nettles herself and her dragon Sheepstealer.
Silverwing
Lady Alysanne Targaryen’s and later Ulf White’s mount, Silverwing, went wild after the Dance. Silverwing made her den in Red Lake and continued to live there during Aegon II and Aegon III’s succession.
Morning
The dragon of Lady Rhaena Targaryen, the daughter of Prince Daemon Targaryen and Lady Laena Velaryon.
The Morning was the only Targaryen dragon left in King’s Landing after the Dance, to which some people thought Rhaena should take the throne over Aegon III since she still had a dragon and Aegon’s Stormcloud was killed during the Dance.
The Cannibal
He was considered the most vicious wild dragon on Dragonstone and lived up to his namesake by eating dragon eggs and hatchlings.
Cannibal fled Dragonstone when the Dance happened; hence he managed to survive the Dance of the Dragons.
In the Targaryen dynasty, Balerion is the only known dragon to die of old age; two centuries is around the age length of a dragon.
As Sheepstealer and the Cannibal were wild and on Dragonstone before the Dance, we can assume they’ve perished from old age.
Silverwing, on the other hand, after the end of Dance of the Dragons and the death of Ulf White during Dance the Dragons Silverwing became riderless and wild; Silverwing, later on, made her den in Red Lake and continued to live there during Aegon II and Aegon III’s succession.
