Hunter X Hunter is one of the most loved Anime of all time. It has a perfect blend of friendship and action.
This is one of my favourite Anime and Gon Freecs, the protagonist of Hunter X Hunter, is one of the best-written anime characters ever.
Gon’s pure heart, firm determination to do something and unwavering loyalty toward his friends is something that I love the most.
He would do anything for his friends, even if it meant giving up his life.
Gon changed his friend Killua’s heart and turned him around. Killua belonged to a family of assassins and was raised to become one right from birth. But, after meeting Gon, Killua changed in an unexpected way.
He finally found a friend and a rival whom he admired and loved. Together they learned many things and trained to become the best Hunters. Watching Gon always made Killua do things that he never did or dreamt of.
We all have that one friend in our lives who drives us to do better and whom we do not want to leave, right? Well, I certainly do have one. What about you?
And it is not just their friendship that I like the most in Hunter X Hunter. I also love their journey. As it is rightly said that journey is more important than the destination, Gon and Killua’s Journey has been one of the most adventurous ones.
Gon’s determination to find his father, Ging Freecs, has driven him to become a Hunter.
He trained hard and went through a lot of struggle, and finally succeeded. He met his father and was able to understand why he left him when Gon was so young.
Well, I can talk about Hunter X Hunter all day, but today let’s see what the 10 best anime to watch if you like Hunter X Hunter are.

This Anime needs no introduction. It was the best Anime for a decade! With hundreds of characters and many arcs, this show has won everyone’s hearts.
Naruto is one of the best anime with an awesome storyline. His goal of becoming Hokage is the same as Gon’s determination to become a great Hunter like his father.The story of an orphan who had tremendous power sealed inside of him, who was treated as an outcast in the village and later recognised as its leader.
The journey is amazing in itself. What’s more, is that it has a unique bond of friendship and rivalry. Naruto does not give up on his friend and rival, Sasuke Uchiha, who had taken the wrong path. In the end, he brings his friend back to the right way.
It also has the concept of chakra that can be used to perform various kinds of Ninjutsu like Nen in Hunter X Hunter. The amazing battles will bind you to watch the complete show to the end.
This is my favourite Anime to date, and if you like Hunter X Hunter, I would definitely recommend you to watch this.
2. Yu Yu Hakusho
Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the most interesting Anime written by the creator of Hunter X Hunter, Yoshihiro Togashi.
The series might appear to be very different from Hunter X Hunter, but the characters share the same heart.
Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter are both written by the same writer and have amazing action and plot stories.Yu Yu Hakusho is the story of a teenager who died protecting a child. But this was not the end for him.
In his afterlife, he went through a lot of struggles and gave a series of tests.
Later he became an underworld detective who deals with demons who have entered the human world.
Though the story does not relate much to Hunter X Hunter, the characters have a kind of similarity.
Well, this is not a surprise since both of them come from the same writer.
Nonetheless, you will definitely like it if you love Hunter X Hunter.
3. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is another anime that you will definitely like if you are searching for Anime similar to Hunter X Hunter.
The Elwin Brothers have broken the laws of Alchemy and now lost their bodies; they are on their mission to regain them but have to battle superstrong God-Level beings. It has amazing battles like Hunter X Hunter.It is a story of two brothers who want to take their bodies back, which they lost while performing an Alchemy against the laws of nature.
Like Nen in Hunter X Hunter, here we have the concept of Alchemy, a science which is based on the law of equivalent exchange.
This means that to get something, you must provide something equal in worth.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood has exciting battles like Hunter X Hunter and is full of action.
The two brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric do not represent Gon and Killua, but they share a bond beyond brotherhood.
The plot gets interesting as the series approaches its end, where they battle a God-level being and many of his super-powered disciples.

4. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is an adventurous journey of a young mage named Aladdin and an adventurer named Alibaba. They travel through dungeons to discover untold riches.
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is an adventurous journey like Hunter X Hunter. Aladdin’s adventure will rile up your spirit.These dungeons also hide great power.
They have powerful magical beasts called Djinn who can only be found by a worthy adventurer.
This beast holds immense magic and can almost do everything.
Like Hunter X Hunter, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is an adventurous journey.
It had its fair share of dark parts, like the end of the Chimera ant arc in Hunter X Hunter when Gon fought Pitou at the expense of his own life.
Though the magic here is completely different from Nen, it is still worth watching for its action.
Nen is something which we can imagine to be true by achieving a superhuman stage of the human body, but magic feels to be unreal in itself.

5. Dororo
Honestly, this could have come at the top of the list. But despite being one of the best written Anime, it shows similarities mostly to the dark side of Hunter X Hunter.
Dororo is pretty dark side of Hunter X Hunter. Hyakkimaru has suffered a lot since his birth after losing his body to demons. He regains his body by killing them all.It is a story of a boy named Hyakkimaru who lost his complete body to the demons because of a pact made by his parents.
His life was exchanged for the flourishing of his kingdom, which had been affected by drought and floods in past years.
He fights demons and kills them to regain his body. During his journey, he meets a young orphan girl named Dororo, who transforms his life.
Dororo had her fair share of bad experiences. She lost both of her parents in the most miserable way possible.
Hyakkimaru’s intense desire to regain his body at all costs, in the end, is similar to what Gon felt against Pitou.
Their intense hatred for their enemy is the same. Both Gon and Hyakkimaru were ready to sacrifice everything to achieve their goals.
But in the end, everything turned out the right way for both of them.
Also, watching how Dororo changed Hyakkimaru reminds us of Gon’s impact on Killua’s life. If you are ready to watch some dark sides, you can definitely try this Anime.
6. Dr. Stone
You might be wondering how this Anime is similar to Hunter X Hunter, right?
It feels crazy to even just find its name in this list. But just bear with it for a minute.
Honestly, both of these Anime have their stories far apart from each other.
What relates to them is the drive that Senku and Gon feel to achieve their objectives.
Ishigami Senku has the same determination as Gon, and with his intelligence, he plans to restore the human population of 3.7 billion, which had turned into stone.Ishigami Senku, the main protagonist of Dr Stone, wakes up at 3700 years to find that all humans in the world have turned into stone statues.
Senku is an expert when it comes to science and, unlike Gon, is very intelligent and good with numbers.
He had decided to turn the world back to the way it was before everyone was turned into stone. And he is using his knowledge to build modern equipment in this primitive world. He has already created telephones and automobiles in the stone era.
Dr. Stone Season 3 will also be releasing soon, so make sure you watch it.
Now when we come to Gon, he desperately wants to meet his father, Ging Freecs.
He became a hunter for the very same reason and now has gone through a lot of training and struggles to be able to meet him finally.

7. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure has amazing battles with supernatural forces which surpasses the Nen battles in Hunter X Hunter. This is a must-watch if you like Gon and his Nen abilities.JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is full of action and adventure. Jojo’s ancestors, the Joestar family, have a rich history of adventurers who have battled supernatural forces of nature. Their epic stories and impressive battles have inspired the newer generations.
Like Nen in Hunter X Hunter, The supernatural forces in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure have rules governing them.
So it is quite interesting to watch. But, the most exciting part is the action. The amazing fights will remind you of battles in Hunter X Hunter.
Though the animation lacks a bit when compared to Hunter X Hunter, You must definitely watch JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure if you like the amazing story of Gon Freecs and how he becomes one of the best Hunters in the Hunter X Hunter.
8. One Piece
This Anime needs no introduction. It is the greatest Anime in the last two decades. It has over 1000+ episodes and is still ongoing.
The Straw Pirates and Monkey D. Luffy aspire to become the Pirate King. His dream is similar to Gon, and he will achieve it.One Piece has amazing action and loads of battles. It’s the main protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, is the same as Gon Freecs from Hunter X Hunter.
Like Gon wants to become a great hunter like his father, Luffy aspires to become the Pirate King.
Unlike Hunter X Hunter, One Piece does not have Nen, but it has dragon fruits which give the consumer a wide variety of powers. This is enough reason to express how amazing the battles could be.
Well, if you have not watched One Piece yet, you must start now. The series is nowhere near completion and might still go 1000 more episodes.

9. Seven Deadly Sins
Seven Deadly Sins is also packed with action and follows seven super-strong individuals. They initially are charged with treason and have to prove their innocence.
The amazing action in Seven Deadly Sins would definitely remind you of Nen battles from Hunter X Hunter. It must be in your watch list.Later they fight powerful members of the Goddess and Demon Clans. These battles are truly amazing, and you will definitely love them.

10. The Promised Neverland
This is the last Anime you could think of to find on this list. Yes, The Promised Neverland does not have Nen like Hunter X Hunter, nor does it have many fights. But, its story shares the emotion that Gon carries.
Norman, Emma, and Ray are determined to save their siblings from monsters and return to the human world. Like Gon, they will never leave anyone behind.Emma, the main protagonist of the Promised Neverland, cares about all of her friends, whom she considers her siblings growing up in the same orphanage.
She wants to save everyone from the demons after she finds out that they live in a world of demons and are raised only to be slaughtered as animals. Emma and her two best friends took it upon themselves to bring an end to it.
Though there are not many battles, the amazing storyline and strategies would win your heart. If you like Hunter X Hunter, you would definitely love it too.
Gon, Emma, Killua, Ray, Norman, and all other kids have achieved so much through hard work and determination. Their efforts have finally paid off, and they inspire you to achieve your dreams.
This is one of my favourite Anime, and I recommend you to watch it as soon as possible. The Chimera Ants arc reminds me of the Promised Neverland as human children are eaten alive.
