Demon Slayer: Who is the Weakest Hashira in Demon Slayer?

Mediascrolls have covered the anime from released episodes and Manga. All of the information is our views and not influenced by any other Media!

Demon Slayer is undoubtedly the best anime with a combination of an amazing storyline and outstanding animation.

The unique characters and their signature breathing styles are what make it so interesting.

The most skilled swordsmen are known as the Hashira and are considered to be the best.

We have covered all the most powerful swordsmen before. But today, let’s see who are the weakest swordsmen among these top-notch demon slayers.

Among all the nine Hashiras, there are two Hashiras who do not stand out very much.

Though they can be considered very skilled and are amongst the top demon slayers, they last rank in comparison to the others.

So here are the two Hashiras we think are the weakest.

If you wish to contradict it, drop down your thoughts and why you consider that particular Hashira the weakest of all in the comments below.

Weakest Hashiras in Demon Slayer: #1 The Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu Kocho uses the Insect Breathing Technique, which is a derived form of Sun Breathing.

But, what distinguishes her is the unique way in which she kills demons.

The Insect Hashira uses a special poison which is effective only on demons.

She makes it from the Wisteria plant, which repels demons away.

The Wisteria Poison may not have a very strong impact on Upper Demon Moons, but it is enough to paralyse and kill any ordinary demon slowly in a matter of a few hours.

It immobilises them and gives the demon the most painful death ever.

Most of the demons suffer from poison throughout the night and then burn in the sunlight at dawn.

Sounds scary, right? But this is effective only on ordinary demons.

The Upper Demon Moons can easily nullify the poison in their body within minutes.

Yes, those moments could be crucial in battle but not when the Insect Hashira is fighting alone and here is why.

The Insect Hashira, Shinobu cannot decapitate demons.

Yes, you heard it right. She cannot cut off the demon’s neck or inflict major damage.

The reason is that her sword lacks its back edge, which provides support and force for cutting.

You might be wondering why she doesn’t get a new sword, right? Even if she gets a new sword, it would still be the same.

Shinobu is very thin and small. She cannot apply a lot of power or force, which is required to cut off a demon’s head.

Despite being extremely skilled, she cannot chop off any demon’s head.

So she makes up for it by using the Wisteria Poison. Also, Shinobu Kocho is an excellent medic, probably the best.

When Zenitsu was stung by poison that would turn him into a spider at the Nagamuto Mountain when he fought the fake family of Lower Demon Moon Five, Rui, Shinobu was able to prepare an antidote just after one look at Zenitsu’s condition.

She also cured Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Tanjiro after their battle with the Lower Demon Moon Five, Rui.

That itself proves how excellent her skills are.

To give you some spoilers, Shinobu is the one who will help lady Tamayo (Demon who helps Tanjiro to prepare antidote to turn Nezuko back to human) to prepare more quantity of antidote that she gives to Kanao who uses it to turn Tanjiro back into a human after being taken over by Muzan Kibutsuji.

But in terms of overall fighting ability, I think that Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira, is the weakest of all Hashiras.

She might be able to fight Lower Demon Moons (of course, because that’s how she became a Hashira), but I find it hard to believe that she would be able to stand in a better position than others in a fight with the Upper Demon Moons of the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji.

If you think that any other Hashira might be weaker than her, let me know in the comments below. And don’t forget to state why you think she is stronger than the other hashiras.

Weakest Hashiras in Demon Slayer: #2 The Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui

After the epic battle between the Sound Hashira and the Upper Demon Moon Six in the entertainment district arc, you will think that it’s crazy to find his name here, right?

How can such an awesome demon slayer be considered weak? Well, he is undoubtedly amazing, but other Hashiras have something more.

First, let’s go through Sound Hashira’s strengths. Tengen Uzui is the fastest Hashira.

He is a shinobi, a Ninja who had trained hard over the years and improved his skills to be one of the strongest demon slayers.

Tengen Uzui was able to fight the Upper Demon Moon Six, Gyutaro, even when he had lost one of his hands.

His incredible speed and agility helped him survive such a dangerous battle. He was on par with Gyutaro in terms of speed.

But, Uzui is no prodigy.  e has honed his skills through hard work and a lot of effort.

There are many other Hashiras who are either gifted by birth, like the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, who has skin eight times denser than a normal human.

Or super talented demon slayers like the Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima and the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, who managed to become Hashira in a matter of only 2 months after starting their training to become a demon slayer.

No doubt that Uzui is one of the strongest demon slayers, but when we compare him to these Hashiras, we have to accept that he still lags behind them.

Tengen Uzui uses the Sound Breathing Technique, which is also a derived form of breathing technique and not the original one.  eing a Shinobi, he also uses many Ninja tools like smoke bombs, Kunai knives, and many more.

Uzui has trained his body to be resistant to any ordinary poison humanly possible.

During his shinobi training, he used to intake small amounts of poison daily so that any venomous snake or other poison could not affect him.

Thanks to this, he was able to resist the effects of Gyutaro’s poison for much longer.

The poison slowly took effect on him, whereas it would have killed any ordinary human instantly.

Compared to him, other Hashiras are a lot better in terms of skill and experience.

He himself admits that while talking about the Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima, the Mist Hashira Tokito Muichiro, and the late Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, whom he admired the most.

So when compared to all other Hashiras, some Hashiras definitely stand a better chance than him.
