Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the most-watched and loved anime of this decade.
Its amazing story and wonderful characters make it more interesting to watch.
But have you ever wondered why Itadori Yuji, our main protagonist, became the vessel for the most powerful curse in history? How can he suppress the King of Curses?
Any other normal human would have gone mad or, at the very least, died if he had come in contact with such a powerful curse object, the Finger of Ryomen Sukuna.
But, Itadori consumed it and is still alive. To add more, he is even able to suppress the King of Curses from taking over his body. How is it possible?
This reminds me of one of the most asked questions.
Is Yuji related to Sukuna? Is he his reincarnation or a descendant? Well, here is my theory on this.
Is Itadori Yuji related to Sukuna?
Itadori Yuji is the only person to have been able to become a vessel for the King of curses Ryomen Sukuna.
There have been many curses that have Sukuna’s fingers at their core, making them powerful, and they are known as Special Grade Curses.

But what’s surprising is the fact that Itadori is still a human and is the perfect vessel for Sukuna.
He not only has complete control over his body, but he is also able to suppress Sukuna from taking it over.
Not to mention Yuji’s superhuman strength and abilities.
He had them even before he ate Sukuna’s cursed finger.
There are two theories that I found very interesting.
The first one, Itadori Yuji, is the reincarnation of Ryomen Sukuna, who was born and destined to be his vessel so that the King of Curses could be revived.
The other one is that Itadori Yuji is a descendant of Sukuna, and for the same reason, he is an appropriate vessel for the same.
So which of these do you think is correct? Let us know your reason why you think this is true. Till then, let’s see what proof we have for both theories.
Theory 1: Is Itadori the reincarnation of Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen?
To explain this theory, let’s understand how Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, came into existence.
Ryomen Sukuna was an extraordinary human being.
He was a very skilled Jujutsu Sorcerer and highly overpowered anyone alive.
You can even compare him to being as strong as Gojo Satoru, but this was over 1000 years ago.
At that time, many powerful Jujutsu users came together to stop him, and after a long and deadly battle, they were finally able to cut off all 20 of Sukuna’s fingers and stop him.
His hatred turned him into a curse after his death, and that, too, was a very powerful one.
He was the strongest Jujutsu user of his time, and after becoming a curse, he became unbeatable and became known as the King of Curses.
After Itadori eats Sukuna’s finger, he is still alive and able to stop Sukuna from taking over his body because he might be his reincarnate.
To support this argument, We had seen that when Itadori died after Sukuna removed his heart, their souls had a chat.
At that time, we saw Sukuna’s appearance as Yuji.
With just the addition of some markings all over his body.
Because if they were two individual souls, they might have different appearances.
Sukuna could look like a completely different individual, but he looked exactly like him.
One possible explanation is that they share the same body, so it might be the case.
But the Souls of two people must be different.
Let us know what you think about this in the comments below.
I leave the rest to your imagination.
Meanwhile, let’s also see what evidence we have for our second theory.

Theory 2: Is Itadori a descendant of Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen?
This theory is very interesting. Since Ryomen Sukuna was once a human, it is very likely that he had a family.
So Itadori might be a very distant relative of him after 1000 generations.
But, if this was the case, then everyone in his family should be strong or have some traits.
But, his grandfather died of disease and did not seem to be very strong.
So Itadori might be the only one who was lucky enough to be born with such a unique build and physic from birth.
In spite of that, I personally find it hard to believe that it can be pure luck.
After thinking about these two theories, I wonder if it might be a bit of both.
Well, this is just our suspicion of what might be true.
Since nothing has been declared officially yet, we will have to wait for an announcement or for the suspense to end in the Manga.
Still, what do you think about this theory?
