Jujutsu Kaisen: Does Itadori Yuji die in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Itadori Yuji is the main protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen and one of my personal favorites in the entire series along with Fushiguro Megumi and Gojo Satoru.

His charismatic personality and willingness to help anyone in need are something that I like the most.

He is almost like a superhuman as he is much stronger than any normal human and his physical abilities are on a whole other level.

Itadori can fight even first-grade curses without having to use any curse energy at all.

When told by Gojo Satoru that he would have to die after eating Sukuna’s finger, Itadori readily accepts Gojo’s offer to postpone his execution till he consumes all of Sukuna’s fingers.

He is even ready to die for the simple reason that after consuming Sukuna’s fingers, when he dies, the world will be a better place.

But is Itadori’s death inevitable? Will he die at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen?

Or will his life be spared if he somehow manages to control Sukana (which seems impossible)?

Will Itadori Yuji die in Jujutsu Kaisen?

This is the most asked question by the Jujutsu Kaisen fans. So the actual answer is, We don’t know.

Yes, you read it correctly.

Itadori’s death has neither been confirmed yet, nor been denied.

There is no official confirmation of what will happen to Itadori Yuji at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Here are two possible theories.

The First one is that Itadori might consume all of Sukuna’s fingers and obtain its full power.

With Ryomen Sukuna at his full power, he might be able to break Itadori’s will and gain absolute control over his body.

If this happens, Gojo Satoru, the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer, might have to fight Sukuna in a deadly battle and eventually must kill him by killing Itadori Yuji, his precious student.

This would be the most probable end to the series, but we don’t know who would win in this fight Gojo Satoru Vs Ryomen Sukuna.

There is another possibility that the higher-ups in Jujutsu Kaisen would order Itaori Yuji’s assassination before he consumes all of Sukuna’s fingers.

According to the Manga, Itadori now has absorbed 15 of Sukuna’s fingers. 

That is 75% of his power, and the higher-ups won’t hesitate to get rid of most of Sukuna’s power for good.

Also, they do not care if they have to kill Itadori Yuji for the same.

So, either way, Itadori Yuji might die at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen unless a miracle saves him and changes his fate. He was destined to die the moment he consumed Sukuna’s finger for the first time.

Does Itadori Yuji die at the end of the Manga?

The Jujutsu Kaisen Manga is yet to be completed, and there is no official confirmation stating that Itadori Yuji would die at the end.

Unless by any miracle Itadori is able to control Sukuna as Naruto did with Kurama or Asta did with Leibe, there seems no possibility that Itadori would live.

Also, if he can somehow separate Sukuna from his body, then he can definitely live, and Gojo Satoru would defeat Sukuna and get rid of him for good.

Does Itadori Yuji come back to life?

Itadori Yuji has already died once.

It was when he and Fushiguro had to face a special grade curse which was much more powerful than them.

Itadori decided to let Fushiguro escape, and he then allowed Sukuna to take over his body and kill the Special Grade curse.

At that time, Itadori was disgusted by his weakness as he thought that this would be his end. This resulted in him losing his will to live or fight.

As a result, Sukuna was able to take control of his body.

He took Itadori hostage by removing his heart from his body.

Thus if Itadori were to take over his body again, he would die as he has lost his heart.

Later, Sukuna also fought Fushiguro but spared his life as he saw potential in him to be a worthy opponent in future.

After hearing Fushiguro’s words, Itadori took over his body again and died.

He was physically dead, but his consciousness was still alive inside Sukuna.

After a debate, he agreed to bind a contract with Sukuna in exchange for reviving him.

Thus Itadori came back to life again.

Does Itaori Yuji gets executed in Jujutsu Kaisen?

After consuming the first of Sukuna’s fingers, Itadori met Gojo Satoru.

Gojo was much more powerful than Sukuna and easily stopped him.

Later on, he knocked Itadori unconscious, and when he regained consciousness, he found himself tied up and seated with Gojo Satoru.

Gojo told him that Itadori was a perfect vessel for the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna and that he had absorbed one of his fingers.

He added that the higher-ups at Jujutsu High wanted Itadori to be executed, but Gojo offered him an alternative.

Gojo tells him that he can postpone Itadori’s execution indefinitely till he consumes and absorbs all of Sukuna’s fingers.

After that, he would need to be executed to save the world from the threat of Ryomen Sukuna forever.

Itadori agrees to this immediately as this would mean that he can make the world a better place and fulfil his promise to his grandfather.

Therefore, Itadori might get executed at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen after absorbing all of Sukuna’s fingers.

Because Sukuna, at his full power, is a threat that the world cannot handle.

And Gojo Satoru must be the one to execute his precious student as he is the only one powerful enough to stand up to the King of Curses in battle.
