The Essex Serpent is a new drama released on Apple TV based on the same navel named The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry.

The Essex Serpent won the British Book Awards for 2016 as the “Book of the Year 2016” the series is based on the same novel by Sarah Perry, and it got released last week on Apple TV.

No! The Essex Serpent is not based on a true story, but it is based on a novel named “The Essex Serpent” by Sarah Perry. 

The series was an award-winning Novel back in 2016, and it won the “Britain Book of the Year 2016” award. 

Although the story is not based on actual incidents, the author Sarah Perry did take reference from her childhood memory of Maldon town of Essex. 

Most of the filming was completed in England’s Essex and London regions. 

As per goodtoknow, The filming locations include Alresford, Brightlingsea, North Fambridge, Maldon, and Gordon Square Bloomsbury.

The Essex Serpent: What is it about? 

The Essex Serpent resolves on a character named Mrs Cora Seaborne (Claire Danes), who, after the death of her husband, Mr Micheal Seaborne, left London and moved into Essex to find the truth about a mysterious spotting of a Serpent Creature in Aldwinter. 

Cora also had a tragic past. Her husband Micheal Seaborne was abusive and used to torture her regularly because of which she didn’t fully recover as well. 

Cora has always been interested in Natural History, which has been her passion, so she decides to go to Essex to learn more about the mythical creature. 

Eventually, after moving into Aldwinter, Cora finds out about the death of a girl named Gracie (Naomi’s sister). 

The Town people didn’t seem to be welcoming of Cora into the Town, and they believed the devil Serpent was back, and the creature was killing people in Town. 

Cora finds herself amidst the chaos as the people of Aldwinter believe she is the one who has attracted the Sea Serpent. 

When Cora arrives, the people find the missing girl Gracie’s decomposed body in the swamp. 

The people now belives everyone in Aldwinter is dying because of the Serpent, and Cora is responsible for attracting the creature. 

But Cora, along with Father Will Ransome (Tom Hiddleston), is determined to find out the truth about the mysterious death of Gracie and also the truth about the Serpent. 

The Essex Serpent also has a different angle. The story follows the journey of Dr Luke Garrett, a doctor who is also romantically involved with Cora, trying to find a way to do cardiac surgery on patients. 

The Essex Serpent is available for streaming on Apple TV+. The episodes are released in a weekly fashion every Friday.
