Moon Knight Episode 6 starts with Arthur Harrow and his men taking out Marc’s body from the water after he was shot in Moon Knight Episode 4. Arthur and his men took back Ammit’s sculpture which Steven had retrieved from Alexander, The Great’s tomb.
Layla is devastated after witnessing Marc’s death. She thinks of taking back her revenge on Arthur and his men. Layla first puts on a disguise as one of Arthur Harrow’s men so that when she gets a chance, she can kill him.
Arthur and his men now are on their way to the god’s chamber where Ammit will be resurrected. On their way, Arthur killed a few policemen, Layla thought it would be a good time to kill Arthur Harrow, but Goddess Taweret stopped her. Instead, she talked to Layla via the dead bodies of the police officers whom Arthur had just killed.
Taweret tells Layla that Marc is speaking through her, and he is telling her to stop and not to kill Arthur yet. As with Ammit’s powers, Arthur Harrow is too powerful now, and Layla won’t be able to stop him alone. She will first have to free Khonshu.
So what happens afterwards in Moon Knight Episode 6? Did Layla manage to free Khonshu? and Marc and Steven also return to life? Did Arthur free Ammit? Were Steven and Marc and Layla able to stop Ammit? What happened in the Post credit scene? Well, read along to know the details.

Moon Knight Episode 6 Ending Explained: Did Arthur Free Ammit?
Taweret suggests Layla free Khonshu by breaking his ushabti in Gods’ chambers in the Great Pyramid of Giza, where Arthur Harrow and his followers were also going to free Ammit, so Layla thought of keeping the disguise as one of Ammit’s followers and tagged along.
Taweret also offered Layla to be her avatar and adds Marc says lovely things about Layla, and she is thrilled to meet her. But Layla, as of now, disagreed with the proposal of becoming Taweret’s avatar.
As we progress, we see The Ennead in the Great Pyramid now realise all these disturbances mean someone is trying to release Ammit. They surely now understand that whatever Khonshu was saying about Arthur Harrow was true.
Arthur Harrow now arrives in the Great Pyramid of Giza. The fight breaks between Ennead’s avatars and Arthur Harrow and his men. With Ammit’s powers, Arthur Harrow successfully defeats them all and frees Ammit.

Ammit, after being released, states, “To whom do I own this gratitude?” Arthur replies, “Your humble disciple, my goddess to whom you don’t owe anything.” Ammit replies, “Your scales lack balance” Arthur answers, “I understand. I had hoped my penance might correct my imbalance, but I can see that it is impossible.
I accept the scales regardless of the outcome”, Ammit replies, “Your scales are imbalanced because of what lies ahead of you” Arthur answers, “Then you might spare the world the pain I would cause,” Which means he is telling Ammit to kill him.
But Ammit replies what lies ahead of you is your service to me. Arthur replies, “How may I serve you in death?” Ammit replies Arthur’s death is delayed as she wants a servant whose scale is balanced perfectly to carry out her mission for which she was previously banned for 2000 years as a stone.
Arthur tells Amit that he has disciples worldwide whose scales balance perfectly, waiting for her command. But as Ammit was set free by Arthur, she states that as he had set her free, he is the avatar she needs. Arthur willingly agrees and becomes the avatar of Ammit.
Moon Knight Episode 6 Ending Explained: Did Layla free Khonshu?
Yes! Layla did manage to free Khonshu, and after being free, Khonshu asks Layla if he doesn’t feel Marc’s presence in this world. He died fighting, Khonshu presumed. Layla replies yes, he died fighting your wars.
Khonshu replies that if Marc is truly gone, he will need an avatar to defeat Ammit, so he asks Layla if she is willing to be an avatar of Khonshu.
But Layla disagrees with Khonshu and states she won’t be required to be Khonshu’s avatar as she had seen what it had caused Marc and Steven.

Khonshu replies to defeat Ammit, he needs his powers, but Layla replies that she doesn’t need Khonshu’s powers. So she will take her chances but will not enslave her.
So Layla and Khonsu start working together. Khonshu says they must rebind Ammit, and only an avatar can do it. Still, Layla disagrees she won’t be Khonshu’s avatar. So now Khonshu goes to stop Ammit by himself.
Moon Knight Episode 6 Ending Explained: Did Marc and Steven come back to life?
Meanwhile, we go back to the Fields of Reeds, where Marc was. In the Fields of Reeds, Taweret tells Marc that his scales are balanced, his heart is whole, and his journey is over.
When Marc asks where Steven is, Taweret tells him that Steven is gone and Duat has him. Marc replies he needs to go back to save him. Taweret replies it doesn’t work that way, and Steven doesn’t need him now.
Marc replies so while he is Fields of Reeds witnessing a beautiful horizon in peace, Steven will be frozen in the sand. Well, he is not good with that as well.

So, therefore, we witness Marc going back to Duat to free Steven. Taweret tried to prevent Marc, but it was not enough. So, Marc went back to Duat to free Steven.
Marc becomes emotional, witnessing Steven in this frozen state. The Duat begins to freeze Marc as well. It was an emotional moment between them both. Soon the Duat froze Marc as Marc stated his last bit that he is the only superpower he ever had.
But soon, the door of Osiris opens, and some magic happens. Marc and Steven successfully come back to life. Maybe Osiris saw the goodness in them, and with the current scenario with Ammit being free, Osiris had to free them anyway as they are the only ones who could stop Ammit.
Moon Knight Episode 6 Ending Explained: Did Marc, Steven, and Layla manage to stop Ammit and Arthur Harrow? Did Layla just become the avatar of Taweret?
Elsewhere Khonshu and Ammit now have altercations with each other Khonshu states that Ammit’s avatar is a sinner. She wants a lonely world only her disciples to inherit.
The fight begins between Ammit and Khonshu. Ammit looked to be an advantage. However, Khonshu, in between the battle with Ammit, realises that Marc has come back to life.
After coming back to life, Marc transforms himself into Moon Knight, and then he and Steven (Mr. Knight) meet Khonshu. Khonshu tells him that Ammit has been freed, and he alone can stop him. First, however, he will require Marc’s help.
But Marc and Steven, however, say they need Khonshu to hold the other end of the bargain that Khonshu should free Steven and Marc as his avatars after stopping Ammit. Khonshu agrees with the same. Marc then flies to Cairo to stop Ammit and Arthur Harrow.
On the other hand, Layla saves one of the Ennead avatars and asks how she can stop Ammit. The Avtar replies they need to imprison Ammit in the mortal form in the chamber, and also, it will require more avatars.
Layla eventually agrees to be the avatar of Taweret and rises as the new avatar of Taweret aka Scarlet Scarab, The Protector of Egypt.

In the meantime, Arthur Harrow starts using Ammit’s powers and her followers to take the soul of everyone who is unworthy of living.
Now Marc arrives, and the fight breaks between Khonsu vs. Ammit and Steven, Marc and Layla vs. Arthur Harrow and his men.
As the fight progresses, Ammit tells Khonshu that there is so little difference in what they want for this world they why are fighting. Khosnhu replies he only punishes those who have chosen evil. To that, Ammit replies, so does she takes care that they don’t have the satisfaction of committing it.
Ammit tells Khonshu to join him and fight together, but Khonshu again disagrees and says he doesn’t want the only thing to be taken away from him.
Elsewhere Steven (Mr. Knight), Marc (Moon Knight) and Layla (Taweret) fight with Arthur Harrow and the followers of Amit.
Arthur Harrow was about to kill Marc by taking away his soul with Ammit’s powers, and at that time, Marc backed out. The third personality Jake Lockley takes over Marc and Steven’s body and kills everyone, and injures Arthur Harrow badly.
We think Jake Lockley is the strongest avatar of Khonshu. After defeating Arthur Harrow, both Steven and Marc ask each other if it was them who did all these. They both reply they don’t have a clue.
Marc says he blacked out, and then the third persona Jake Lockley took over their body and killed everyone. (We also witnessed the same in Moon Knight Episode 3)

Layla now tells Marc to take Arthur’s body inside the chamber to use the power of the chamber to help bind Ammit to Arthur’s body, and they start chanting ancient Egyptian spells.
Before fading off, Ammit says to Khonshu they could have made the earth their paradise to that. Khonshu replies too late now. She will be imprisoned forever inside the mortal form.
The spells were a success, and Ammit gets bound to Arthur Harrow’s body, and now Khonshu tells Marc and Steven to kill Arthur Harrow because as long as Arthur Harrow is alive, Ammit will still live.
But Layla stops Marc and tells him they have a choice as he is free. Khonshu disagrees and says they have a choice, which is vengeance. But, if they do not kill Arthur, Ammit will find another way out.
Marc decides to stop and tells Khonshu that if he wants to kill Arthur, he should do it by himself as he will not be going to kill Arthur and ask Khonshu to free him and Steven as his avatar.
Khonshu replies fine and releases Steven and Marc as his avatars.

Moon Knight Episode 6 Post Credit Scene Explained: Did We see Jake Lockley killing Arthur Harrow?
In the post-credit scene, we see Arthur Harrow in a mental asylum like Steve and Marc. Then, we see some guy appears with a Limousine and takes Arthur Harrow out.
We see Khonshu sitting inside the car. Arthur sees Khonsu and says, “Khonshu! You cannot hurt us”.
But Khonshu replies, “You want to hear something funny, Arthur; Marc Spector truly believed that Khonshu would wish his wife Layla to be his next avatar. But why would he ever need anybody else when he has no idea how troubled he truly is? Meet my friend Jake Lockley.”
We see Jake Lockley taking out his head from the driver’s seat, taking out the gun, and killing Arthur Harrow. This means Arthur and Ammit’s chapter is closed, and they are dead.

Although Khonshu has freed Steven and Marc as his avatars, Jake Lockley, the third avatar, is still serving Khonshu. Maybe Steven and Marc don’t understand yet about the blackouts and why they turn into this third personality Jake Lockley.
Maybe in the Moon Knight Season 2, we will be witnessing more about the new third avatar of Khonshu Jake Lockley.
Also, we saw Steven and Marc waking up directly after the incident in Cairo after they stopped Arthur and bound him and Ammit together. Marc didn’t kill Arthur and told Khonshu to kill Arthur by himself if he wanted.
We think directly after that incident, Jake Lockley might have taken over Marc’s body, and he did the assassination of Arthur Harrow to stop Ammit from freeing.

Khonshu suggested the same to Marc, but at that time, Marc didn’t agree with Khonshu and told Khonshu to free him and Steven. Maybe sometime after that, Marc might have unknowingly turned into Jake Lockley, killed Arthur Harrow, and then returned to their home, where they woke up as Marc.
Also, we didn’t see Layla at the end. Will she still serve as the Avatar of Taweret? We will know all these in detail in the Moon Knight Season 2.
