What Superhero is Layla in Moon Knight?

Layla in Moon Knight is the new superhero known as Scarlet Scarab, The Protector of Egypt, the First Egyptian Superhero in MCU.

In the first part of Moon Knight Episode 6, we see that Taweret approached Layla to be her Avatar to stop Arthur Harrow and Ammit. Still, initially, Layla doesn’t accept Taweret’s offer.

Taweret at first talked with Layla through one of the deads at that time; she said that she was speaking on behalf of Marc from the Fields of Reeds, Taweret and Marc warned Layla not to go against Arthur Harrow all by herself, and they would require Khonshu for that matter, so first, they told her to free Khonshu.

When Taweret offered Layla to be her Avatar, she disagreed as she saw how much pain it had caused Marc to be Khonshu’s Avatar.

But much later in Episode 6, when one of the avatars of Ennead, whom Arthur Harrow had badly injured, told her that the only way to imprison Ammit would be in her mortal form in the chamber of the God, and for that matter, they will require more avatars.

Then, Layla eventually agrees to be the Avatar of Taweret and rises as the new Avatar of Taweret, Scarlet Scarab, The Fist Egyptian Superhero in MCU.

Although Layla temporarily agreed to be Taweret’s Avatar, we know how good and kind-hearted Taweret is, so it is expected that Layla will remain as the Avatar of Taweret, Scarlet Scarab, the protector of Egypt.

Layla as Taweret’s Avatar Scarlet Scarab: What are Layla’s powers in Moon Knight?

Toward the end of Moon Knight Episode 6, we all saw that Layla had risen as an Avatar of Taweret and became the new superhero Scarlet Scarab, the protector of Egypt. As a result, Taweret also provided Layla with all her powers and also an excellent armour outlook.

Layla’s appearance changed as soon as she transformed into an Avatar of Taweret, Scarlet Scarab.

She appeared in golden Egyptian armor with a blade-like wing that acts as a shield and can be used for flying as well. Along with that, Layla received two golden swords that are used to injure enemies.

She used all her powers to fight against her battle with Arthur Harrow, first as Layla was a mercenary.

Then, after getting Taweret’s super strength, she became even more powerful. With superhuman strength and fast reflexes, Layla is as furious and powerful as Marc Spector’s Moon Knight

Toward the end, we also saw Layla trying to save a girl from getting crumbled underneath a car, and she stopped the car so effortlessly like it was nothing, which explains what kind of powers Layla, Scarlet Scarab possesses.

We also know that Taweret possesses the powers such as Resurrection abilities that Layla will be able to use to heal someone or heal herself as well.

The key powers of Scarlet Scarab, as per Marvel Fandom, are the following:

  1. Superhuman strength, agility and durability
  2. Flying at the speed of 400 mph
  3. To fire concussive bursts of mystical energy
  4. The Scarab also allowed him to sap the power of others on contact.

We have seen the first 2 in Moon Knight Episode 6. For the rest 2, we will be seeing Layla developing over time through her journey as the superhero in Moon Knight as Scarlet Scarab, The Protector of Egypt.
