Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 27 Ending Explained: Are Theo Magath and Keith Shadis Dead?

Note: This is Mediascrolls' sole opinion after watching the episode 27 and are not influenced by any media by any means.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 27 “Retrospective” has been released, and in the following episode, we saw Mikasa, Connie, Jean, Annie, Reiner and Falco trying their best to get Azumabito and the mechanics towards the flying boat so that they can service the same and afterwards they can leave to find Eren and the wall titans and stop the rumbling.

The mechanics require one whole day to service the boat, but that means Survey Corps and Marley Warrior unit need to fight 1/2 whole day with the Yeagerists, whereas the maximum transformation time for the Armored and Female Titan is only a few hours.

So what happened after that? Did they manage to service the boat in time, or they have decided on another plan for the same? If you have missed out on Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 27, then do not worry. In this article, we will explain all that has happened in Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 27

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 27: Did Marley Warrior Unit, Survey Corp manage to figure out a plan to fix the flying boat?

When Hange asked the Azumabito mechanics how much time it would take to service the flying boat so that they could fly towards Eren Yeager and location the Founding and The Wall Titan’s position.

But the Azumabito mechanics said it would at least take around 1/2 whole day to serve the boat. Hange was worried after hearing this as she believes they did not have that much time.

Plus, as pointed out by Theo Magath during the discussion, The Female and Armored Titans can only remain transformed for a few hours with the current onslaught by the Yeagerists. Plus with all the reinforcement that the Yeagerists have, it will be difficult for them to hold them off for so long.

Now Hange says the Rumbing is currently moving faster than a galloping horse, plus they have ploughed through all obstacles, and with half a day’s time, they will raze through 600 kilometres past the coast and flatten the whole continent, they will need more than four days and even if everything goes right and they manage to stop Eren Liberio will already fall by that time.

So they cannot wait for 1/2 day for the flying boat to get fixed. That time Azumabito provides an alternative idea. She says at the south of Marley Coast.

There is a city called Odiha where they own a hanger, and the flying boat could be serviced there. Hange further looks into a map, and judging by her analysis, she says Odiha is about to be flattened by the Titans, and if they manage to reach Odiha by the time Eren reaches there, they might have a chance to stop him and the rumbling at that point.

But it is a gamble they might not be able to reach the city on time, but in any case, they cannot stay here any longer and continue to fight, so that is the best idea of what they believe can happen.

So they decided that they would be leaving for Odhia by the ship, attaching the flying boat in the back. Theo Magath asked the mechanics did the ship has any coal left, and they said yes, it was there, and it would take around 30 minutes to prepare it. Theo informs them to do it in 15 minutes.

Hange decides to inform Mikasa and others of the latest plan, and at all cost, they must protect Azumabito and her mechanics as they are their ticket to leave this port.

Mikasa quickly informs Female Titan and Armored Titan that they would be leaving to service the boat on the mainland and help the Azumabito and the mechanics board the ship and protect them at all cost.

Floch and Yeagerists now look at the mechanics and Azumabito. He informs all the Yeagerists to kill them anyhow now the full-fledged fight begins between Marley Warrior Unit, Survey Corp vs the Yeagerists.

Reiner and Female Titan acts as a guard to protect everyone and takes the blow from the Titan Spear. Floch instructs to bring in all the Titan Spear to kill them.

Elsewhere, we noticed Pieck Fieger taking Falco, Gabi, Levi, Yelena, and Onyankopon on the back, and her goal is to take them safely to the boat so that they can be safe will join the fight as well.

Falco notices the condition of both Female and Armored Titan, and he decides he will join them to help, but Pieck warns Falco that the first transformation never goes right, so he better not do this she can handle it. But Falco disagrees anyway and runs towards Reiner and Annie to save them.

On the other hand, we see more reinforcement coming for the Yeagerists with a train, but the train gets blown on the track, and all the reinforcements are lost. Floch gets terrified seeing this, and he doesn’t understand who did this either.

Falco, on the other hand, tries to transform. Jean arrives to check on him, and after seeing Female and Armored Titan’s condition, Falco finally makes his transformation to Jaw Titan.

Falco easily takes out a few Yeagerists Connie, Hange and Mikasa use this opportunity to get close to the ship. Floch tries to blow away the boat, but his target is not accurate; hence it hits elsewhere, and Hange shoots him, and Floch dies.

Mikasa, Hange, Connie, Jean kills some more Yeagerists. The boat tries to leave the port. Onyankopon informs everyone to get on board, but Falco gets out of control and attacks Cart Titan. Theo Magath arrives, cuts Jaw Titan’s nape, and gets Falco out of Jaw Titan’s body.

Everyone gets into safety except Theo Magath. He informs Onyankopon to start the ship as he will hold the rear. The remaining Yeagerists attacks him, and now Keith Shadis arrives, kills the remaining Yeagerists and saves Theo Magath.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 27 Ending Explained: What happens to Theo Magath and Keith Shadis? Are they dead?

Yes, both Theo Magath and Keith Shadis are dead as they bombed themselves up to secure the port so that Yeagerists cannot catch Hange, Mikasa and the rest in the first boat with the help of a Marley Crusier ship which Yeagerists captured earlier.

They wanted to destroy the Crusier Ship so that when any reinforcement comes for Yeagerists, they can’t get hold of the Marley Warrior Unit and Survey Corp members working together to stop Eren Yeager.

Keith Shadis was also the one who attacked the reinforcement train of the Yeagerists. He asked why he didn’t Theo left with the group on the ship to that Theo says there is a captured Marleyan Cruiser here as well and it is fast enough to catch the ship and sink it as well, plus more reinforcement is about to arrive as well from the Yeagerists so he can’t just leave it here.

Therefore both of them goes inside the Marley Cruiser to destroy it. They get noticed by a few Yeagerists inside the ship.

Theo says to Keith that now would be a good time to take a swim and leave the Crusier as it is about to be destroyed. Keith replies don’t matter to him as he is looking for a good time to die anyway.

When Theo asked why he helped them anyway, Keith replied he noticed some of his old students heading south out of Shinganshina, seeing how much they have grown, and after understanding their plan, his heart was moved, so he decided to help them.

Theo also says his last words before destroying the ship. He says

“You will soon be remembered as one of the heroes who saved the world”

Keith replies, “That will be two of us” Theo replies, “I refuse to give myself pat, I ignored my conscience, I ordered around the children to serve country’s interest and also commanded them to destroy the wall, all of these are my fault, those children could have lived a normal life, and I would be happy to see that now when all these are over”.

Keith says ‘You might not be proud of yourself, but I am, after seeing what you have achieved” Keith hands down the gun to Theo to destroy the ship. Theo asks for Keith’s name before destroying the ship, then fires the gun one last time.
