A Recap of The Afterparty Season 1 Finale
The Afterparty Season 1 Finale episode has been titled “Maggie”.
At the beginning of The Afterparty Season 1 Finale, Detective Danner learns that Germain has landed and is about to arrive any moment. Danner, who has promised herself to solve this case before Germain comes, starts questioning Maggie in the presence of Zoe.
Maggie says that she was brought to the school by her babysitter because of an emergency where, at the auditorium, she saw her mother with Aniq. Maggie then confirms Brett’s statement that they had to come to the afterparty to retrieve her favourite koala bear, which was with Aniq.
Maggie was asked by Brett to stay in the car, but after some time, she got bored and went on to explore the villa.

She ran around the house and even amused herself at Xavier’s recording studio for some time. Brett got hold of her again and brought her back to the car, where she slept after some time.
However, before sleeping, Maggie saw Jennifer 2 peeing at the house entrance, which was actually a pregnant Jennifer 2’s water breaking.
Detective Danner immediately assumes that Jennifer 2 has gotten herself admitted to a maternity hospital. Shortly after, Jennifer 2 calls Jennifer 1 to inform her that she has given birth to a baby and that her husband is arriving soon from Japan.
Detective Danner has everyone assembled in the living room, where she starts from Chelsea. Danner says that Chelsea had a motive to kill Xavier, but Indigo had seen Chelsea and Zoe on the stairs when they heard the sound of Xavier falling.
Danner then rules out the possibility of Jennifer 1 or Ned being the killer as at the time of the murder, Jennifer 1 had to go to the bathroom to wash off the drizzle of alcohol on her by Xavier from the terrace above, and Ned went to assist her.
Danner’s attention is then on Walt, who says that he was in the bathroom at that time. However, Walt tells her that he was just trying to figure out how to make everyone remember his name and did not leave the bathroom the entire time.

Danner then names Brett as the killer. Aniq does not believe this as he saw Brett going to the car at the time of the murder.
Yasper tells Aniq not to disclose this to anyone, but Aniq tells this to Danner, clearing Brett’s name. Brett apologises to Aniq for being mean to him in the past.
The Afterparty Season 1 Finale Ending Explained: Who Killed Xavier?
Aniq says that he found the closet door open when he was going up the stairs, and the killer might have been hiding there.
Danner now says that the killer is the person who is likely to be terribly upset with how his life turned out and that the person is Yasper! Danner then presents her theory on how and why Yasper had killed Xavier.
As per Danner, Yasper felt immensely bitter with Xavier making it big and Yasper’s career going nowhere. Yasper believed that he was the one who had inspired Xavier’s hit number “How great is this party”. Yasper asked Xavier to bless his upcoming video, which Xavier blatantly refused.
Yasper made everyone believe that he was at Xavier’s recording studio at the time of the murder. Still, he sneaked to Xavier’s room and pushed Xavier off the terrace after a brief confrontation with him. Yasper then took Xavier’s phone and sent himself a message that Xavier was eager to collaborate with him.

Yasper also deleted the CCTV footage using Xavier’s phone, making it look like it was Detective Culp’s mistake. Yasper, of course, denies all this and asks Danner what evidence she has against him.
It so happens that Xavier’s phone is still in possession of Yasper, which is the most significant evidence against him. A panicked Yasper confesses and even tries to flee.
Yasper is being arrested as Detective Germain is making an entry. One can imagine the supreme satisfaction Detective Danner must feel when she informs Germain that she has solved the case and that Germain should return.
What Happens to Aniq and Zoe in The Afterparty Season 1 Finale?

They now have Brett’s approval, who is deeply indebted to Aniq and Maggie too seems to like him. After some time, Zoe stops the car and asks Aniq whether he will make a move or not.
A slightly hesitant Aniq says that there has just been a murder and an arrest, but the very next instant, they end up kissing one another.
