How I Met Your Father Season 1 Episode 8 has been titled “The Perfect Shot”.
At the beginning of How I Met Your Father Season 1 Episode 8, we see an older Sophie telling her son in the year 2050 that it was that time in her life that made her wonder whether she was good enough.
In the present timeline, we find her wondering aloud that she is not good enough. Not one shot she has taken qualifies as the perfect shot that she can present to Naomi.
Elsewhere, we find Meredith visiting Jesse’s apartment, wanting to see him. Jesse is not there, and Sid wants to save Jesse from the trauma of meeting his ex. Sid leaves Meredith waiting at the apartment and asks Ellen to come over to Pemberton’s for an emergency meeting.
While Sid and Ellen discuss how not to let Meredith meet Jesse, Meredith comes looking for him at the Pemberton’s. Sid and Ellen send her back to the apartment, saying that Jesse has returned.
Meredith takes the hint that the duo doesn’t want her to meet Jesse and leaves. Before leaving, she tells them that her solo album is arriving the next day and that she wants to apologise to Jesse.

Valentina tells a shocked Charlie that her boss wouldn’t notice. However, her boss notices and Valentina puts it back for auction.
Meanwhile, Sophie suffers a nasty fall and quite hilariously loses a bit of her tooth while shooting an elderly couple who were kissing on the street.
Jesse takes her to a dentist who seems to be way beyond his retirement age, making Sophie doubt his ability. Nevertheless, he does a great job, and Sophie is as good as new.
Her relief, however, is short-lived as the tooth breaks again after their car receives a nasty jerk. At the dentist’s waiting room, they had come across a wannabe writer who had been trying to make it big for ages.
How I Met Your Father Season 1 Episode 8 Ending Explained
Sophie wonders if she will ever be able to make it big, to which Jesse says that he simply loves the way she spreads hope and optimism and is sure that someday the world will watch her photos.

Sophie later learns that Drew has offered Jesse a permanent job as a music teacher in his school, saying that Jesse’s dream to make it big in the music industry is nothing but a pipe dream.
Sophie is shocked to hear this and asks Drew if he thinks that her dream of becoming a famous photographer is a pipe dream as well.
Drew tries to dodge her question, but Sophie insists on an answer. Drew says to a shocked Sophie that photography might be her passion, but she needs to get a stable job to get ends meet.
Elsewhere we find Charlie swiping (read stealing, again) that purse again from the auction to prove her love to Valentina. Valentina is thrilled at Charlie’s action, which is also his expression of love.
In the last scene of How I Met Your Father Season 1 Episode 8, we find Sophie confiding to Jesse about her disappointment with Drew and find them kissing.
