A Recap of Forecasting Love and Weather Season 1 Episode 6
Forecasting Love and Weather Season 1 Episode 6 has been titled “Heat Island Phenomenon“.
The episode begins with Ha Kyung and Lee settling senior forecaster Um at a motel room. Ha Kyung explains to Lee the events of the evening. However, when Ha Kyung asks Lee what he is doing at the motel, he cannot provide an answer.
Ha Kyung suspects that Lee is hiding something, making her painful past run back to her. She narrates how past wounds make a person coward.
Elsewhere we find heatwave warnings being issued by the KMA. The extreme heat is because of the heat island phenomenon. At senior forecaster Um’s house, we see his wife looking at the empty chair where he used to sit.

Meanwhile, we find that Lee is asked to move out of the training centre room he is staying in because it’s for the trainees, and adding to his troubles, his phone keeps ringing, making us wonder about the identity of the mysterious caller.
Later, Ha Kyung tells him that they should reconsider the status of their relationship as she is not able to trust him anymore. In desperation, Lee has to reveal that the person he went to meet at the motel was his father.
In a flashback sequence, we find that his father is a compulsive gambler and keeps pestering Lee for money. Lee had to part with all his savings, because of which he is unable to find a flat for himself. Lee’s father, Myung-Han, sees Lee with Ha Kyung and has a wicked smile on his face.
Elsewhere we find Han telling Chae that they can’t afford their present accommodation anymore. They have to apply for a home loan for the newlyweds, for which they will have to register their marriage. As he is busy with his column, which he is yet to complete, he asks his wife to go and register the same.
Han finds that his boss has asked his colleague to write that column as he has not completed it on time. His boss asks him to complete the column by the following day, and he will select the better of the two columns.

He struggles the whole night but is unable to complete the column. He also contemplates calling Ha Kyung for her help but cannot gather enough courage.
Elsewhere in the situation room, the team arrives for its night shift. Ha Kyung receives a message from her sister that her mom is ill. Ha Kyung, however, doesn’t take this seriously and carries on with her meeting.
Later Myung-han comes to KMA headquarters and calls Ha Kyung from the reception that he wants to meet her. She goes to meet him at the cafe, where he says that he is aware that she is in a relationship with Lee and asks for money.
Meanwhile, Ha Kyung’s phone, which she has left at her table, keeps ringing. Lee picks up her phone and learns that Ha Kyung’s mom has been admitted to the hospital. He goes on to find Ha Kyung and tells her about her mom.
Ha Kyung says she will go to the hospital after her duty hour. Senior forecaster Um says that he will look after everything and go to the hospital immediately.
After she leaves for the hospital, Han comes looking for her help. Ha Kyung’s team members are shocked at his audacity. Assistant director Myung finds her husband being scolded by his boss.
It makes her understand that her husband needs a chance to try for a better position, and she asks him to take a one year break from his job.

The doctor tells Ha Kyung that her mother suffers from stress and weakness. He allows Ha Kyung to take her mom home. At home, we find Ha Kyung connecting with her family and even cooking food after a long time. Han calls her and asks for her help in completing his column.
Han very proudly submits his column, which his boss likes a lot. Elsewhere, we find Lee giving all his savings, yet again, to his father with a request never to bother him again. He feels ashamed to know that his father met Ha Kyung and asked for money.
Towards the end of Forecasting Love and Weather Season 1 Episode 6, we find Ha Kyung telling Lee that she needs him to promise that he will never keep her in the dark. If ever he feels that he doesn’t love her anymore, he will immediately tell her so that she doesn’t have to hear it from elsewhere.
Ha Kyung adds that she had suffered the trauma of her father committing suicide due to financial problems at a very young age. In her opinion, both her father and Han were cowards who did not possess the courage to confide in her.
She says that if ever Lee cheats her, she would not be able to go through this all over again. Lee promises her that he will never cheat on her. Ha Kyung suggests that Lee move in with her.
Elsewhere we find that Chae had her doubts about her relationship with Han when she went to register her marriage, and she couldn’t make herself carry on with the registration. Han is shocked to know this.
