Boruto Episode 238 Recap: A Killer on the Ship
Boruto Episode 238 was very interesting. The amazing turn of events and Kawaki’s brilliant strategy saved the day, and they were able to find the killer.
But, things have gone much worse as they will now be stuck in the middle of the ocean.
Let’s see what happened in the episode in detail right from the beginning. Iwabe, Denki, and Metal are still not comfortable being around the Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. During their last encounter, they had a pretty fight.
To make things worse, Iwabe dislikes the Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist as some shinobi from the Hidden Mist Village had killed his grandfather many years back.
He still has a hard time facing them, and the same happened last time during their academy visit to the Land of Waters.
He broke into a fight with them, and later on, various things happened. Boruto met Kagura, and he helped him stop the Ninja Swordsmen of mist who were criminals back then. You can watch the episode to see everything in more detail.
In the present, Boruto and the others had successfully escaped from the Funato and were no longer being chased by them. They had destroyed the Funato Fortress and fled successfully after taking down the Scientific Ninja Tool.
During the night, when everyone was fast asleep, someone murdered Captain Taiki, the fisherman on whose boat Boruto and his friends came to Dotou Island was murdered.
In the morning, his bloodied body was discovered. Boruto was devastated to see him in such a condition. He could not bear that an innocent man was killed because he was just involved with them.
Mitsuki analyzed the injuries and concluded that a hefty object’s attack instantly killed him. Iwabe immediately suspected the Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
Also, Kyoho, one of the Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and the wielder of the Hammer and Axe blade, was not present there.
Iwabe rushed to the conclusion that he was the one involved. He ran to him and found that he was cleaning his blade covered with blood.
Kyoho said that he was asleep the last night, and it was not his doing. Iwabe still refused to accept this and blamed him. Boruto and Kagura asked him to calm down, and then they all decided to search the entire boat to find the killer.
Iwabe offered to keep an eye on Kyoho so that he does not do anything dangerous again. Boruto also stayed with them because he was devastated to see Captain Taiki dead. Also, on Kagura’s request, he conducted Captain’s last rites on the Ship.
Meanwhile, the others formed a pair and searched the entire boat inch by inch. During that, they came to know that the news about Captain’s murder had already reached the hostages. It had spread very fast.
Also, when they did not find anything, Iwabe’s suspicions grew stronger. A Hostage came to them and informed them that during the night when he went to the washroom, he saw Kyoho walking towards Captain’s quarters.
Also, the news about the Ninja Swordsmen of the mist being Criminals was well known, which added oil to the fire. The hostages demanded to check Kyoho as they suspected him the most.
When the hostages demanded to see Kyoho’s face and asked him to remove his mask, he did not. He would not allow them to see that and ran out of the room. Kawaki, Iwabe, and Boruto rushed after him.
It turns out all of this was Kawaki’s plan. After listening to the hostage’s story, he knew that it was a lie because the washroom and Captain’s quarters were in opposite directions, and there was no way through which he could have seen Kyoho.
So to lure out the killer, all of this was Kawaki’s plan. He already knew that Kyoho would react in a blizzard. When they chased after them and ran out of sight, Kawaki pretended to fight and kill Kyoho.
He also secretly revealed the entire plan to Iwabe and Kyoho at the same time. They told everyone that Kyoho was now dead and that he was the one that killed Captain Taiki.
Soon enough, one of the hostages came to the room where Kyoho’s body was placed. Then a member of the Funato Clan emerged from inside of that body, and it turns out it was a special jutsu that allowed him to convert his body into the water and control others.
He was the one who had killed Captain Taiki. And now he planned on taking over Kyoho’s strong body and killing the others.
But, Boruto, Sarada, Kawaki, Mitsuki, Denki, and Kagura were already present there, and the killer had fallen into Kawaki’s trap.
When he was about to touch Kyoho, Kyoho took hold of him and smashed him into the floor. It was difficult for him to fight with so many people around, and he turned into the water again to escape.
But, Boruto and Mitsuki used their lightning style Jutsu to electrify him and force him to take human form again. But he managed to escape through the wall into another room.
But as luck would have him, he entered the room where another Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, the user of the legendary long sword, Nuibari, was stationed in the room. She can stitch anything that has chakra with her sewing blade.
Even the Funato member’s water form was no exception. He was bound by them. But seeing that he had failed, he decided to give up his life rather than get into their hands and reveal any information over the Funato Clan members.
He pushed past through the super sharp sewing needle’s attack with great efforts and jumped into the Ship’s engine. The engine blew up in a blast and was destroyed.
Later on, Denki informs them that the engine is destroyed and cannot be repaired. So everyone thinks of the possibilities of what can be done. Iwabe also apologizes to Kyoho for suspecting him.
It turns out, Kyoho’s clan was burnt alive by Funato, and he has injuries of the same and thus wears the mask. Also, he loses control after watching the blood for the same tragic reason.
Now, what will Boruto and his friends do? Will they be able to reach the Hidden Mist Village safely? Or will Funato catch up to them, and they will fall into Funato’s trap?
