Ha Kyung and Lee have reasons to suspect one another. Han ki-jun and Chae Yoo-jin’s marriage is going through a rough patch, senior forecaster Um has been forced to leave his house, and Assistant Director Myung’s husband is contemplating taking a year off from his job.

A Recap of Forecasting Love and Weather Season 1 Episode 5
Forecasting Love and Weather Season 1 Episode 5 has been titled “Localised Heavy Rain”.
At the beginning of Forecasting Love and Weather Season 1 Episode 5, we find Ha Kyung narrating that atmospheric instability is caused by the collision of two different types of air. Presently, we find Ha Kyung and Lee in her apartment, with Ha Kyung waking up to realize that she is late for her work.
We find that Lee is receiving calls from a mysterious person, which upset him. He asks the caller not to call him again, and when Ha Kyung asks him about the caller, he gives her a vague answer. He also receives a call from Chae, which he does not answer as Ha Kyung is with him.

However, a colleague sees them together, and they pretend that coming together to the office was just a coincidence. The colleague later asks Lee how he crossed paths with Ha Kyung when he is presently staying at the centre, to which he replies that he was house hunting.
Elsewhere we find Chae asking her husband not to hold grudges against her because of her past affair with Lee. At the office, the Director-General asks Ha Kyung to analyze the current localized heavy rain situation.
Senior forecaster Um arrives to work late and is visibly upset. The Director-General, who is a sympathizer of Um, asks him about his problem. Um goes into a flashback which reveals that he had to leave his house due to the mounting tension between him and his family members.
Ha Kyung asks her team to do a long term analysis of the situation and analyze the data of the past ten years.
On the other hand, Lee asks for a short-term analysis as this was an unprecedented situation. Ha Kyung brushes him off in front of the team and asks them to do long-term analysis, adding to the team’s workload.
We later find Ha Kyung and Lee meeting secretly and planning to get together at night at her apartment.

He says that his office is the voice of KMA, and Lee counters by saying that the situation room where he works is the heart of KMA, and a spirit doesn’t need any permission to beat.
Han meets Ha Kyung and accuses her that she has inducted Lee into her team just to get back at him. He says that Ha Kyung is yet to get over him. Hearing this, Ha Kyung kicks him.
Forecasting Love and Weather Season 1 Episode 5 Ending Explained
Over lunch, we find Chae and Han pretending to be a happy couple. Ha Kyung overhears her team members talking negatively about her.
Meanwhile, team member Kim Soo receives an alert of abnormal rain echo over Seol in the situation room. She asks senior forecaster Um to have a look, but he doesn’t seem to care.
Before long, it starts pouring heavily, causing immense inconvenience to the public. Streets get flooded, the power supply gets affected, and two persons go missing. The crowd is very angry with KMA for failing to forecast the weather situation earlier.
Senior forecaster Um takes responsibility for all this in front of the Director-General. Ha Kyung later scolds him for not doing his duties. Kim Soo accuses Ha Kyung that she was kept busy in long term analysis and could not keep an eye on the real-time situation.

Later we find her husband telling her that he plans to take a year off from his job to prepare for an examination.
In the ending of Forecasting Love and Weather Season 1 Episode 5, we find Ha Kyung going to watch the rescue operation of the two missing workers. She finds that senior forecaster Um also offers her his jacket when she starts feeling cold.
She is unable to hear Lee’s calls because of the wailing sirens. Lee is shopping for a bottle of wine for their date. He again receives a call from the mysterious person and is next seen withdrawing money from an ATM. He is later seen going to a motel where he meets a girl.
The two workers are rescued, and Ha Kyung and Um go for a hot soup. Ha Kyung finds his luggage in his car and realizes that he has left his house. Um gets drunk and is unable to drive.
Ha Kyung takes her to the nearby motel where he could spend the night. It is when she comes across Lee, and both of them ask each other why are they at the motel.
