A Recap of Suspicion Season 1 Episode 5

Suspicion Season 1 Episode 5 has been titled “What Does a Kidnapper Look Like”.

In Suspicion Season 1 Episode 5, we find Sean, Tara, Aadesh, Natalie and Eddie trying to flee.

They come near a country cottage, and Sean forcibly opens the door. Sean tries to open the laptop of the person who had tried to kill him earlier. Aadesh tells Eddie that they should escape from Sean while Tara is upset about killing a man.

Sean tells them that the people who kidnapped them could be from the FBI or the British Intelligence, and by now, everything would have been cleared at the shooting scene except for Monique’s dead body.

Sean asks them all to tell the absolute truth, but they all simply reiterate what they said to the NCA.

Aadesh later finds a mobile phone and tries to charge it when a neighbour and a dog come looking. Tara and Sean pose as a couple in front of him and tell him that they are friends of the house owner.

Sean later finds that his gun is missing. Natalie has taken the gun and has locked herself in a room, threatening to shoot herself. Tara tries to talk her out of it, but Natalie doesn’t listen and pulls the trigger. Luckily, nothing happens as the safety device of the gun is on.

Later, Tara confesses that she found Leo’s admission to Oxford to be highly unethical. She secretly started a campaign, planting rumours on the message board, sending online messages, pretending to be someone else.

Tara started getting calls threatening her to stop her campaign. When she refused to relent, her daughter Daisy was kidnapped from her music class and later released after a warning.

It seems like it was Sean who had kidnapped her daughter as he knows a lot about it. Sean claims that he carried out the operations for money. He never had any inside information.

Aadesh then confesses that it was Martin Copeland, the COO of CNPR, whom he had come to meet in New York. He had hacked the website of CNPR just to prove his candidacy for the cybersecurity job he had applied for.

Natalie confesses that the company she had defrauded was CNPR. Sean asks Aadesh to try to open the laptop, which he does. However, the email section is found empty, and there is a video of Copeland.

Suspicion Season 1 Episode 5 Ending Explained

Aadesh says that he saw some movement in trees and goes out to investigate. He, in fact, tries to call someone when Sean incapacitates him and brings him back to the house.

Elsewhere on the news bulletin, it is revealed that Eric Cresswell is a disgraced scientist who had to resign from Cambrook University after an investigation.

The media starts branding this kidnapping case as a politically motivated act or an act of ethical terrorism.

Sean decides that he will have to go to America to find the facts.

Natalie says that she will accompany him to avenge her sister’s death. She says that she still has a hundred thousand dollars of embezzled money stashed away.

Meanwhile, the suspecting neighbour is seen calling the police. Sean catches him prying and kills him. He tells everyone that they have to leave immediately.

Eddie is at the back of the vehicle and is seen sending the message “On the move, with all four” to an unknown person. He hides the device in his shoes before the credits start rolling.
