Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 4 was both a thrilling and brutal episode, to say the least. A lot of things happened that it seems too hard to process all of it at once.

Paul and Marcus’ didn’t have a pleasant time in the episode, and their ordeal was echoed by the fans. Mother returned and wrecked Marcus, much to the fans’ disappointment, though bolstering the plotline for the upcoming episodes.

Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 4 is titled ‘Control.’ Indeed, we did get to see Mother making a return to gain control of the current situation.

The episode kicked off with Marcus being aware of the Trust’s plan against him, thanks to Paul, and he prepares his men for the upcoming struggle.

Things didn’t go according to their plans, as the Trust were one step ahead. They implanted a bomb on Paul, foreknowing his following actions, which gave them the upper hand once Paul was in the hideout.

Paul’s viral transformation

The bomb exploded, thereby infecting both Paul and Marcus’ men. With his hideout exposed, Marcus sends some of his men away while staying there to ambush the atheists. We have Campion and Vrille also present in the scene, as Campion seeks Mother’s aid in saving Paul.

We also learn about the importance of the seeds that Paul referred to.

As per Paul, the seeds for the tree are back at the Tarantula, and he likely thinks the seeds for the tree of life and the tree of knowledge are present in the relic he found in the first episode of season 2.

Vrille, unable to provide much help in their current predicament, vents out her anger in despair, something which is quite gruesome to look at. Both Vrille’s actions and Paul’s transformation to a human lizard species will make your skin crawl.

Mother taking away Marcus’ divine power

Marcus didn’t welcome Mother as he started fighting her, only to end up losing his eyes. Mother was quick to realise the source of Marcus’ power, and she went ahead to take what belonged to hers.

Mother, enraged, said to Marcus, “Your power…wasn’t granted by a god. It was stolen from me, and now I’m taking it back,’ before taking his eyes and attaching back in her socket.

Things get even more intense when Mother turns herself into a Necromancer when confronted by the Trust as she takes Paul with her.

After putting Paul with Sue, Mother takes down the supercomputer and takes charge, leaving the atheist camps almost rouge.

Both Paul and Marcus’ future seems to be in trouble now, and we can only imagine what the show has in store for them.

The ending was as interesting as the entire episode, as we see Father taking the kids and the fuel blood for what seems to be the new necromancer. He did lose that; however, as he went outside, he saw the humanoid creature levitating, thereby setting the stage for episode 5.

Raised by Wolves Season 2 is currently available for streaming on HBO and HBO Max
