At the beginning of How I Met Your Father Season 1 Episode 3, we find an older Sophie reminiscing in front of her son in the year 2050, another story of her life where she tries to fix others’ problems.
Back in 2022, we find Jesse confiding in Sophie that if he joins Tinder, it would surely be a disaster with his terrible photos, making it a horrible profile. He laments the fact that he is internet famous as the Proposal Fail Guy.
Sophie tries to cheer him up by saying that she has gone out on 87 Tinder dates this year alone and has yet to give up hope. Sophie makes up her mind to help Jesse create a perfect Tinder profile by dicking some really lovely photos of Jesse.

Ellen is also looking for an apartment, and Sophie suggests that she and Charlie can share one. However, it turns out that Ellen is not willing to have Charlie as a roommate.
After facing numerous hiccups in apartment hunting, which includes getting robbed as well, both of them end up together and decide to become roommates.
Meanwhile, we find Hannah trying to spice up her long-distance relationship with Sid by sending him sex toys, which does not work well with Sid.
Jesse’s photo session does not seem to be going as expected because of his awkwardness. However, Sophie does manage to take some candid shots. The Vice-Principal of the school where Jesse works steps in, and he is agreeable with Sophie on Jesse’s awkwardness.

At the end of How I Met Your Father Season 1 Episode 3, we find Sophie and Jesse going to a bar to meet real people. Jesse seems to have hit it up with a girl, but when Sophie finds her bragging that the Proposal Fail Guy is hitting on her, she gets furious and ends up confronting the girl, who finally walks away.
Sid confides Valentina about the problems in their long-distance relationship. Valentina helps him get the flight ticket, and Sid ends up at Hannah’s place.
