Last updated:

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 19 concluded in a cliffhanger with lots of questions now left to be answered; as we correctly predicted in our previous article, we saw Zeke turning all the subjects of Ymir who had consumed his spinal fluid into Titans and Falco being one of them was also turned into a Titan.

He then targeted Reiner so that Eren could utilise the time to escape also we saw Galliard meet his fate finally. Episode 19 was probably the best among all the Episodes, and many fans were left wondering what would happen next.

Thankfully, Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 20 will offer some answers, setting up new mysteries. In this post, we’ll explain the ending of Attack Titan Season 4 Episode 19 and what we expect to see in Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 20. Beware of spoilers!

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 19 Recap: What Happens to Galliard? Does Falco’s Titan eat Galliard?

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 19 starts with the first Beast Titan falling into the ground after being hit by Turret Cannon. However, he was still alive, and Eren was strolling to get near Zeke so that they could be in contact to activate the Founding Titan’s powers.

But Galliard’s Jaw Titan attacks Eren’s legs from behind, and Eren smashes Galliard’s Titan’s nape with his hardening fist, which injures Galliard in the process, and now Reiner also attacks Eren and tries to pin him down.

Zeke, after seeing this tries to activate his powers to turn all the subjects of Ymir into Titans who have drunk his spinal fluid. But in the meantime, Colt and Falco come into the scene. They tell Zeke not to use the powers as Falco is also one of those people who has drunk his spinal fluid.

Colt reasons with Zeke that he should not bring children into this; at least he should give Falco to get out of his range so that his scream does not change him into a Titan.

Even Gabi was ready with the horse to quickly move Falco out of Zeke’s range, but Zeke did not listen to them and turned everyone to Titan, who had drunk his spinal fluid, and as a result, Falco was also turned into Titan.

After being turned into Titan under Zeke’s control, Falco attacks Reiner to free Eren so that he can escape and run towards Zeke. And also, elsewhere, all the Eldian soldiers who are now turned into Titans are now attacking the Marley soldiers.

Reiner tries to keep both Eren and Falco’s Titan busy, and he thinks Zeke might have been finished. So he accepts his fate by letting Falco attack him, but Falco comes suddenly and deliberately gets noticed by Falco’s Titan.

Hence, Falco now moves his attention towards Galliard and eats him. This means Galliard has died, and Falco will inherit the Jaw Titan’s powers.

Pieck and General Magath also attack Zeke’s beast Titan’s nape another time with the Turret Titan, and it looked like Zeke might have been finished this time, but as it turns out, Zeke managed to leave Beast Titan’s body just before that.

Eren also noticed this, and he used his hardening ability to trap and freeze Reiner for the time being so that he could escape and run towards Zeke.

And as Eren was running towards Zeke, Gabi, with the anti-Titan artillery rifle, fires at Eren, resulting in Eren’s head being decapitated and ends on Zeke’s hand. This activates the Founding Titan’s powers, and both Eren and Zeke go to coordinate, where the Founder Ymir resides.

Reaching there, Eren and Zeke discuss, and Zeke tells him he is now in the Coordinate, where the time resides slowly but feels like an instant in the real world.

Zeke tells Eren to ask Ymir to lend the Founding Titan’s powers so that they can activate the Euthanasia Plan. To this, Eren does not agree.

He says he didn’t believe even in the Euthanasia Plan, and Eren asks Ymir for the powers. It reveals that Zeke has already activated the Founding Titan’s powers and was just testing his brother.

What to Expect from Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 21?

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 19 Ending Explained: Did Zeke activate Founding Titan’s powers? And What happens to Eren now? Is he dead?

To tell how Zeke got the founding Titan’s powers, we have to tell about Karl Fritz’s Vow to Renounce war. A long time back, Karl Fritz feared that Eldians and Titans these powers could be used violence, destruction and war, so he made a vow to renounce war with the Founding Titan so that in future, the inheritors want to use Founding Titan’s powers in vengeance and war the powers can never be used.

These were Kart Fritz’s words:  Eldians and Titans should never have existed in the first place, and I will take the responsibility of righting this wrong. Till the day the retribution comes, I want to live inside these walls and want to enjoy this brief paradise, A world without conflict.

So when Zeke first arrived in the coordinate being a member of the Royal Family, he was bound by Kart Fritz’s Vow to Renounce war.

But after spending so much time here (Episode 17), he managed to nullify Karl Fritz’s vow because, in the coordinate, there are no restraints on his reasoning if he could have done it in the real world, this could have been a conflict with Karl Fritz’s Vow to Renounce war, hence wouldn’t have managed to repeal the vow but as they are now in the coordinate and here there are no restraints on Zeke’s reasoning, he managed to convince Ymir otherwise and obtained Founding Titan’s powers.

What Happens to Eren? Did he die in Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 19?

No, Eren is not dead in Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 19; the anti titan rifle of Gabi decapitates his head, and his head falls on Zeke’s hand and activates Founding Titan’s powers.

After that, it is revealed that Zeke has already activated Founding Titan’s powers by nullifying Karl Fritz’s vow.

Towards Episode 19, we saw both Zeke and Eren contact each other. In Episode 20, we will see both of them in Grisha’s memory, where Eren would break the shackles and try to take back the powers of Founding Titan.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 20 Spoilers: What to Expect?

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 20 is titled “Memories of Future” in this episode, after Zeke and Eren come in contact, the Coordinate will go into Grisha Yeager’s memories, and there it will be revealed that it was actually Eren who had manipulated his father to kill all the members of Royal Family.

Zeke will be shocked after witnessing that Eren had manipulated Grisha into killing the members of the Royal Family and stealing the Founding Titan’s powers. He will also learn that it was possible because Zeke had taken Eren in Grisha’s memories.

Plus, Eren will also reveal when he contacted Historia Reiss’s Titan; he activated the founding Titan’s powers for a brief period. That is where he had seen a future self of himself and things that were about to happen.

However, Eren cannot see everything because he doesn’t know if he can command Founding Titan’s powers inside the Coordinate.

Zeke will scream to Ymir to take away the ability of all the subjects of Ymir to reproduce. In contrast, Eren will try to convince Ymir to give him the Founding Titan’s powers.
