The ending of Mayor of Kingstown Season 1 saw an uprising by the prison inmates under the leadership of P-Dog. They wanted to bring the inhumane treatment of the inmates by the correctional officers into public eyes.
The rebellious inmates took control over the prison as well as the guards.
Mike had to enter the prison to negotiate a deal between the warring factions and save his brother Kyle and his partner Ian, who were trapped inside the prison’s sewage system.
All this while, Miriam, who was watching this drama unfold on television, was deeply concerned about the safety of her children and tried desperately to get in touch with Mike.
A SWAT team entered the prison through the sewage line and rescued Kyle and Ian. They also gun down P-Dog, who had executed a guard.
Many other inmates were also gunned down, and the SWAT team crushed their rebellion.
The brothers meet Miriam outside the prison and hug one another.
Back in the cabin, Mike found Iris clutching a kitchen knife. Iris confessed that she was thinking of taking her life but then thought better of it.
