Foundation Episode 9 Recap
Foundation Episode 9 has been titled “The First Crisis.”
In Foundation Episode 9, we find that owing to Lewis Pirenne‘s sacrifice, who plugged himself into the warship Invictus’s system to save others, the ship manages to reach above Terminus.
Salvor sets out to explore a nearby ship, where she finds Hugo. There is a joyful reunion of Hugo and Salvor. They reach Terminus’ surface, finding everyone unconscious and with their noses bleeding.

They find that the Vault has enveloped all of the planet Terminus within its null field. Salvor uses Gaal’s memories through Seldon’s psychohistory module to deactivate the Vault.
What Happen in Trantor in Foundation Episode 9?
Elsewhere, Brother Dawn, realizing that his imperfection is no longer a secret, tries to elope through the hidden pathway that Azura had shown to him.
Deep down the irrigation system, Brother Dawn reaches the lower rungs of Trantor, a place completely different from his palace. Here, he finds Azura, who takes Brother Dawn to her house.
There, to his utmost shock, Azura knocks him down. Azura had been a part of a decades-old anti-Empire rebel group that had altered Brother Dawn’s DNA before his birth, which was the cause of his color blindness.
The conspirators had expected all along that because of this anomaly, someday, Brother Dawn would have to flee to save his life, and then they would be able to extract his imperial nanobots.
The rebels had constructed a Cleon clone using these nanobots that Azura had smuggled for them. The clone was supposed to assume Brother Dawn’s identity and rule the Empire someday.
To Brother Dawn’s relief, Brother Dusk arrives, to his rescue with imperial soldiers who crush the conspirators, as well as the fake Cleon. Brother Dusk arrests Azura.
Foundation Episode 9 Ending Explained
Meanwhile, Salvor is able to deactivate the Vault. The black shell of the Vault dissolves into a portal. Phara makes an appearance and tries to destroy the Vault by firing at it, but Salvor manages to kill Phara.
It brings the three races, the Thespian allies, the Anacreons, and the Foundation members together.
Then, all of a sudden, Hari Seldon steps out of the portal. It could mean that Hari Seldon’s plan has finally worked. It could be his second Foundation plan, which he was not ready to divulge in front of Gaal.
Bringing the three races together and successfully managing to transport his psychohistory module to Terminus brings Hari Seldon a step closer to saving the galaxy.
