Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 3 was very entertaining as we saw the dreams of the Demon Slayers. The dreams of Zenitsu and Inosuke were almost the same that we expected them to be, but the dreams of Tanjiro and Kyojuro Rengoku were very interesting.
The Demon of Mugen Train has also manipulated four children to join the demon slayers in their dreams and destroy their Spiritual Core.
Two of them had already entered the hearts of Demon Slayers and were about to destroy their core.
The child who had entered the dream of Kyojuro Rengoku had already reached the core and was about to destroy it when Kyojuro’s real body attacked the child to break him free.
Tanjiro is also about to cut his own head with his sword to break free of his dream.
What will happen if the actions taken in the dream world are also reflected in the real world.

Demon Slayers Season 2 Episode 3 was quite impressive as we got to see the dreams of all the demon slayers present on the Mugen train.
Kyojuro Rengoku’s dream was not what we could have ever thought of. It appears he wanted his father to recognize him.
Hisffather was the previous Flame Hashira and had retired.
Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku attacked the person who entered his dream to destroy his spiritual core.
Even when he was asleep, his survival instincts kicked in, and he could save himself.
He now has him by the throat, but Rengoku doesn’t know that he is just a child being manipulated by Demon.
Will Rengoku kill him? Since his body has now realized that something is off, Will he be able to wake up?
On the other hand, Tanjiro now knows that he is in a dream.
Thanks to Nezuko and his survival instinct, he understood that it was all dream, but how will he break free from it?
In his dream, Tanjiro hears his father’s voice which instructs him that To break free of his dream, he needs to cut something, and he has it in his reach.
This means to break free of the Demon’s spell, he must cut something, and he figures it out to be his own head.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: “Should have been.”
Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 3 depicted the greatest desires of the demon slayers.
Tanjiro’s always wished if he could live happily with his family. Zenitsu wanted to marry Nezuko, while Inosuke wished to become the strongest person.
In his dream, Zenitsu finds himself with Nezuko. Both of them enjoy heartily in a field. Zenitsu attends to Nezuko’s every wish, and they are both happy.

Zenitsu asks Nezuko if she would marry him, and she agrees immediately.
Zenitsu, crazy over girls, as we know, is unaware of the fact that he is dreaming due to Demon’s spell and doesn’t know the danger he is in as his spiritual core might be destroyed, ending his life forever.
On the other hand, Inosuke’s dream was crazier.
He imagined himself as a strong leader of an expedition team with Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Zenitsu as his henchmen.

They found a train inside a cave, and it was the master of that region.
They were there to defeat it and prove their might. Inosuke was the strongest of them all.
This could have been possibly the weirdest dream ever, but it’s no surprise coming from Inosuke.
The Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, in his dream, finds himself in his house sitting beside his father.
He believes that he had come there to inform him about his achievement of becoming the Flame Hashira.
His father was the previous Flame Hashira and suddenly quit the demon slayer corps one day.
Even when Kyojuro informs him about his achievement, he is still not happy. He doesn’t even turn towards his son and keeps reading his book.
He says to Kyojuro “So what if you have become Hashira? It means nothing. You’re never going to amount to anything anyway and neither am I”.
This makes us believe that something must have happened in the past that made him like this.
As Rengoku says, he was not this depressed before. He was always cheerful and happy. He always had a smile on his face and loved his children.
Later on, in his dream, Kyojuro Rengoku meets his younger brother.
He explains to his brother that he will always be by his side. Their mother passed when he was young, and he does not remember her well.
Their father raised them with love and enthusiasm. He was very cheerful and passionate before he quit being a swordsman.
He assures him that his big brother will always believe in him to keep his passion burning through his heart.
He trains his brother in sword fighting. At the same time, a child under the Demon’s control who had put everyone to sleep had entered Kyojuro’s dream.
The Demon gave those children special ropes, which, when tied across the wrist of the dreamer, allow other people to enter their dreams as well.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 2 Episode 2 Recap

They all were given special knives which could cut through the barrier and reach the heart.
Inside the heart of a human resides his spiritual core, which, once destroyed, puts the person in a deep sleep forever.
The Demon’s power did not allow him to create infinite dreams.
The dreams were created with the dreamer at its center and the dreams in a circle around him.
The person had to reach the boundary and cut through the barrier and get the heart using the special knife.
When one child entered the Heart of Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, he found hot burning flames all over, signifying his strong sense of justice.
When the child reached its core and was about to destroy it, it felt its throat being pressed.
Kyojuro’s survival instincts had kicked in, and subconsciously, he had attacked the person trying to kill him. It just shows how mighty he is.

On the other hand, in his dream, Tanjiro enjoys lively moments with his family.
He appears to have almost forgotten about the demon slayers. He performed his duties as he used to and helped his family.
Suddenly he found himself saying strange things about how he carried Nezuko in a box on his back and that Nezuko should not go out in the sun.
Once, he went to the river to fill buckets of water and found his reflection in the water asking him to wake up from his dream.
When he leaned over to get a better look at the water, his reflection dragged him into the water.
It was his survival instinct that wanted to show him the reality.
It reminded him that his family had died and Nezuko had turned into a demon.
Also, it reminded him that he was on a mission on Mugen train, and the Demon has put all of them to sleep, and all of it was a dream.

On the other hand, Nezuko had awoken and come out of her box. Since the Demon did not know about her, she was not under his spell.
Nezuko found that all the demon slayers were in a deep sleep with a rope tied across their wrists and that of small children.
She tried to wake Tanjiro up, but he did not respond. Furious at her brother, she hit her head with his but ended up hurting herself.
Blood came out of her head as she got injured. She used her blood demon art to burn up the rope connected to her brother.
Here in Tanjiro’s dream, he was enjoying a meal with his family. But now, he was aware that he was dreaming. He couldn’t figure out a way to break free from it.
Suddenly he felt as if he could sense Nezuko’s blood.
It was from her injury in the real world. Soon after that, he burst into red flames, the power of Nezuko’s blood demon art.
He found himself in his demon slayer uniform with his sword beside him.
He realized that Nezuko was hurt, and he needed to protect her.
His intense desire to protect his younger sister got him to realize that he had to break free of his dream.
He left his house and ran out in the snow. When he reached the top, he found Nezuko in human form, collecting vegetables.
He was almost in tears, and soon enough, his family caught up to him.
They asked him the reason why he was dressed up that way and was carrying a sword.
He felt awful for leaving his family, but he knew it was just a dream and not reality.

With a heavy heart, he ran away from them with just one thought in his mind, “Should have been.”
He wished that everything should have been like his dream only if Muzan had not attacked his family.
He should have been living with his family, helping with daily chores, and living a happy life.
Somewhere in the woods, the child whom the Demon had sent to destroy Tanjiro’s core found the barrier to his heart and had cut it through using his knife.
He found himself in an infinitely vast and beautiful ocean with blue sky above him and blue water below. The sight was too amazing to the eyes.
Tanjiro came to a halt and started thinking about ways to break free from the Demon’s spell.
He found his father’s voice in his ears saying to him that to break free of his dream, he must cut something.
He also remembers his father’s words saying “Try to be a graceful and strong person who can feel love for other humans. All those people suffering at the hands of demons…..Nezuko…..Take care of them….”
He draws his sword and places it on his shoulders with great courage, ready to cut his neck.
He thinks over his decision once because if he cuts his neck in his dream and that impacts reality as well, then it might be the worst choice.
But keeping the thought of saving everyone on the train, he slashes his neck with his sword, and blood splashes everywhere.
What do you think will Tanjiro’s actions affect his body in reality? How will the other demon slayers wake up? Will Nezuko be able to wake everyone up? If you know answers to any of these questions, let us know in the comments below.
