Only Murders in the Building Season 2 is now a much-awaited event by the worldwide fans of the series. Only Murders in the Building Season 1 ended in a complete cliffhanger, where the protagonists themselves got arrested for a crime they supposedly had not committed.

Read on to know more about Only Murders in the Building Season 2.

When will Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Be Released?

The creators of Only Murders in the Building have officially confirmed Only Murders in the Building Season 2, stating that its shooting is likely to commence by the end of 2021.

Though an official release date of Only Murders in the Building Season 2 has not been announced, it will likely be released by the latter part of 2022, with the trailer being released by mid-2022.

Who is going to be back in Only Murders in the Building Season 2?

There is every chance that the trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez are going to reprise their roles of Charles Haden-Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel More in Only Murders in the Building Season 2.

The show can’t be imagined without the trio and the sparkling chemistry between them.

We are also likely to see more of Aaron Dominguez as Oscar, Mabel’s childhood friend, Da’Vine Joy Randolph as NYPD Detective Williams, and Tina Fey as the celebrity podcaster, Cinda Canning.

Although they have been arrested, Nathan Lane and James Caverly, who play the father-son duo, Teddy and Theo Dimas respectively, are also likely to reappear, as are the rest of the residents of the Arconia.

Amy Ryan as the psycho bassoonist, Jan, will be convicted, with rock-solid evidence against her.

She is unlikely to make a comeback, as is Jayne Houdyshell as Bunny, the building board member who was murdered in the closing scenes of season 1.

These two can, at the most, be seen in some flashbacks in Only Murders in the Building Season 2.

What To Expect From Only Murders in the Building Season 2?

Only Murders in the Building Season 2 is most likely to revolve around Charles, Mabel, and Oliver, as the trio would leave no stone unturned to prove their innocence in front of the authorities.

For this, they will have to find the real murderer of Bunny.

The killer has not only killed Bunny but has also tried to implicate Mabel for the crime, with the dead body being stashed in Mabel’s apartment and the murder weapon being her knitting needle.

With the cops being tipped to arrive at the crime scene at that very time and the duo of Oliver and Charles getting warning messages on their phones to leave the building, it is evident that the killer is after Mabel, or maybe the killer just wants to break the trio.

The trio would have to think of the person who could benefit from Mabel’s arrest, with a clue in the form of the unknown number from which they received the message.

Could it be the Dimases operating against the trio even from the prison, or is it Will holding some childhood grudge against Mabel?

Oscar, too, seems like a probable suspect as he has access to Mabel’s apartment and knows about her knitting needle being used as a weapon.

However, he seems a distant possibility as he is very fond of Mabel.

Detective Williams, who sympathizes with them, is likely to help with their investigation, as is Cinda Canning, who, while creating her new podcast,

“Only Murderers in the Building,” is bound to come across some clues. The murderer is definitely in the building, and we can be rest assured that Only Murders in the Building Season 2 will be as thrilling a roller coaster ride as the Season 1 was.
