Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 2 Episode 1 Recap: “Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku.”

Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 1 focuses on the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku.

The episode begins with Rengoku enjoying his meal in a small local shop when his subordinate member of the demon slayer corps comes to share important news with him.

Last night, Rengoku, along with a few members of Demon Slayer Corps, found a severely injured woman.

Blood flowed from various cuts all over her body as a demon had attacked her and left her bleeding after torturing her.

The assistant informs Rengoku that the lady is safe now as all her injuries have started to heal.

Also, he informs that the incident was related to the Mugen Train. On the same day, a conductor’s body was also found.

The shop owner added that Mugen Train was now out of service as around 40 passengers traveling on the train disappeared without leaving any trace.

Now, Mugen Train had been located as it was secretly transported to a train shed for maintenance after the incident, and Rengoku decided to head towards it.

He also went to inspect the station on which the conductor’s body was found.

There Rengoku met a young girl with her grandmother selling some buns. It was difficult to sell many for them as due to this incident many people were scared.

He inquired them if they had observed anything out of the ordinary on the station.

And, later, before leaving, he bought all of their buns so that they could earn a living. He sent them to other Demon Slayer Corps. This shows how noble his heart is.

He reaches the train yard and finds many workers working there on the maintenance of the trains.

He offered them all some buns, and suddenly, he detected the presence of a demon.

He ran towards it and found a demon torturing a young boy and drawing out some of his blood.

Seeing the demon slayer over there, he thinks of himself as superior and shows out his power while keeping a hostage with him.

He runs around in the train yard with such a speed that it is difficult for normal people to follow.

The demon’s power is his high speed. He also boasts about the girl he tortured last night, which was saved by Rengoku.

He says, “Even if she does survive, she’s doomed to be consumed by fear for the rest of her life.”

And Rengoku replies, “We’re going to treat the wounds of her soul, no matter how hard it may be to heal them, for as long as it takes, you’ll never find her!” just this is enough for anyone to know how kind he is.

Rengoku demonstrates what it means to be a Demon Slayer and how they protect innocent people from demons. The demon then injures the boy he held hostage, drawing out blood.

He cuts him at various parts and tries to kill him. In a flash, the Flame Hashira cuts off the demon’s arms and saves the boy.

Agitated by this, the demon runs out of the train yard and towards the previous station.

He recognizes that Rengoku must have brought the buns from the last station and decides to kill the vendors to take revenge on Rengoku.

Kyojuro Rengoku prioritizes the injured and gives him immediate First Aid.

Soon, a Kasugai crow brings with him other Demon Slayer members to assist the Hashira.

They assure him that the medical team is on their way and will take care of the injured so he can go after the demon.

Leaving the boy in their care Rengoku rushes out of the train yard.

He finds the demon missing and knows that he will attack the shop vendors on the station.

He runs on the track and uses the Total Concentration Breathing Constant Technique.

This technique enhances his speed abilities. The Flame Hashira gains speed and runs faster than the demon, leaving a trail of fire behind him.

He heads towards the station and reached the station with much greater speed than the demon

The Demon on the other hand finds a young girl along with her grandmother selling buns.

The demon wants to kill them and approaches the girl, but her grandmother bravely distracts the demon from buying time for her granddaughter to run.

Demon attacks the girl and is about to kill her when Rengoku arrives and saves her.

The demon is shocked at his speed, he believed himself to be the fastest, but the Flame Hashira was much faster than him.

Now he targets the old woman and challenges Rengoku, “Let’s see whether I can slash this old hag’s throat first or you claim my head first!” and Rengoku replies “No need to put it to the test. You’re slow!” and while saying the same, in the blink of an eye he cuts off the demon’s head in a single smooth cut using the First Form of Flame Breathing, “Unknowing Fire”.

The older woman remembers the same turn of events from the past; She recognizes the same eyes, the same fighting style of the demon slayer who had saved her and her daughter’s life 20 years ago.

She thanks Kyojuro Renoku for saving their lives now and 20 years ago.

He replies that 20 years ago, his father must have saved them and that he will convey their regards to him.

Soon a member of Demon Slayer Corps arrives and informs the Flame Hashira about Mugen Train being brought back to service from the next day.

Kyojuro Rengoku believes that the demon he defeated was too weak to capture 40 humans in a single night without any trace. This means he was just a distraction to prevent them from finding the real demon behind it.

Also, the demon behind this must be much more powerful and mysterious. So he decides to board the train and take care of the matter there himself.
