With the tremendous amount of powers, he figured out that there were other universes as well, so he now aims to bring havoc to the multiverse.

The What If Episode 9 starts with The Watcher assembling heroes from different universes such as Evil Dr. Strange, Captain Carter, Star-Lord T’Challa, Thor, Killmonger, and a variant of Gamora who killed Thanos. The group is called The Guardians of the Multiverse.

The group then brainstormed how to stop Ultron, and The Watcher sent them to an uninhabited world where they prepared for the upcoming battle.
Thor, however, mistakenly allures Ultron’s attention to that universe, and soon Ultron comes, and the fight starts between Guardians of the Multiverse and Ultron.
Dr. Starnge quickly used a protection spell among the members of Guardians of Multiverse before the fight began. So that they can be saved from the deadly attacks of Ultron during their fight.
Ultron vs. Guardians of the Multiverse: Who won the fight? Who Stole the Soul Stone from Ultron?
The Fight between Guardians of the Multiverse and Ultron was intense. First, T’Challa managed to retrieve the soul stone from Ultron, whereas the rest of the members’ Thor, Dr. Strange, Captain Carter kept Ultron busy.
But they stand no chance against Ultron but to delay the process, Dr. Strange lends out the mythical beings he consumed during Episode 4 of What If.
As the mythical creatures attack Ultron, but they are not able to any harm Ultron.
“Well, this has been delightful; now it’s time to bring out some of my own toys,” says Ultron.
As he was starting to bring out his army, he noticed that his soul stone was missing; this made Ultron mad, and he instantly killed the mythical creature with his powers.

So to keep Ultron busy for few more moments so that rest of the guardians of the Multiverse members could escape. Dr. Starange brings out the Zombies from another universe (which we witnessed during What If Episode 5).
Strange says, “Well, that will keep him busy” Thor states, “Zombies!! great idea!, Strange replies, not the Zombies it what came with them”.
In those herds of Zombies, we saw Zombie Scarlet Witch. Now Ultron and the Zombie scarlet witch fight, but even Scarlet Witch being so powerful, stood no chance against this Ultron.
In the meantime, all the Guardians of the Multiverse members managed to escape that uninhabited world and returned to the universe where Black Widow was the only one alive.

What If Episode 9 Ending Explained: Did the Guardians of the Multiverse managed to Stop Ultron?
After the Guardians of the Multiverse managed to escape that uninhabited world and returned to the universe where Black Widow was the only one alive. Black Widow quickly intercepted the Guardians of the Multiverse and snatched the Soul Stone away from them.
Captain Carter then tries to calm Black Widow down and tells her that they are all from different universes and they are here to stop Ultron.
Captain Carter also gives her few extra personal details regarding Widow’s father and tells that she is the one woman Carter believes with all her heart. After hearing this, Black Widow finally comes to terms with the rest of the members.
By that time, Ultron reaches that universe and states, “I believe you have something that belongs to me!”
The fight between Ultron and The Guardians of the Multiverse starts again.
Ultron says, “I can destroy galaxies with just my thoughts, why won’t you die!!”
Ultron now tries to destroy this universe, but Dr. Starnge somehow absorbs his powers; Ultron was shocked when he did that.

After that, all of the members of Guardians of the Multiverse launched a combined attack on Ultron. But those combined attacks also weren’t enough to get hold of Ultron as he managed to get hold of the soul stone.
Dr. Starnge(The MVP of Episode 9) came to the rescue again, used his eye of Agamotto to bring all of the mystical beings, and tried to hold Ultron down with his magic.
Thor also used his Mjolnir to struck a powerful thunder attack on Ultron. The rest of the members also tried to hold Ultron down while Gamora brought out her stone crusher machine to destroy the stones.
Gamora used the machine to destroy the stones, but we see that the stones were not destroyed.
Ultron says, “I’m honestly surprised. Didn’t the Watcher warn you every universe is different, thus the infinity stones are unique.”
This means the stones were not destroyed as the crusher was designed to destroy them in Gamora’s universe, not in the present universe where they are fighting.

Ultron again tries to kill all the Guardians of the Multiverse with his attacks, but Dr. Strange again tries to hold him down with his powers.
In the meantime, Black Widow finds Armin Zola’s artificial mind in Clint’s arrow, which Widow and Clint retrieved in episode 8.
Both Black Widow and Carter now decide that they will hit Ultron with the arrow so that Zola can get into Ultron’s mind.
Finally, they manage to land a shot to Ultron, and Zola intervenes in Ultron’s mind; both Zola and Ultron fight inside Ultron’s brain and Ultron finally gets defeated.
Killmonger now comes to the scene and attempts to take the stone, but Zola, who is controlling Ultron’s body, challenges him, and they both launch attacks on each other.
Strange soon realizes that they were sent here by The Watcher to separate the stones, not to win, so he uses all his powers again to stop them, and this time The Watcher also helps, and combining both Watcher’s and Evil Strange’s power both Killmonger and Zola got froze in the pocket dimension.

Is there a Post Credit Scene in What If Episode 9?
Yes, there is a post-credit scene in What If Episode 9, after Guardians of the multiverse manages to separate the stones.
The Guardians of the Multiverse successfully retrieved the infinity stones and managed to freeze Killmonger and Zola in the pocket dimension.
The Watcher tells Supreme Strange that someone needs to keep an eye watch on this pocket dimension, and if they manage to escape, they will wreak havoc in the entire multiverse again. Strange agrees to safeguard the pocket dimension.
Strange also asks If ‘The Watcher’ was already aware beforehand what will go to happen? The Watcher says yes, he had foreseen the future and all that happened in the fight; that’s why he brought Killmonger because he knew that both Zola and Killmonger would fight one another and would get trapped in the pocket dimension.
The Watcher, after that, teleports all the members of Guardians of the Multiverse to the point of the exact time from where they were brought from except Natasha Romanoff as her world is destroyed now, so The Watcher decides to send her to a universe where Avengers are under attack, and there is no Black Widow in that universe.
Natasha quickly joins the fight and manages to bring down Loki helps Nick Fury, and Nick Fury seeing Natasha, seems happy and says, “You are not my Natasha, but something tells me you have her spirit.”
The What If Season 1 ends there, and The Watcher says for one final time,
“That’s it isn’t it all creatures searching for a place to belong to call home as for me I’m the Watcher the multiverse and every single story is my home, and I will protect it to the end.”
In the final credit scene, Captain Carter returns to her own universe, where her fight resumes with the pirates, and this time Natasha saves her.

Natasha informs Captain Carter that she has found what the pirates were after. Finally, as she opens the strongroom, we see the Hydra Stomper, the same Hydra Stomper by which Stark made with the Tesseract in Episode 1 to create a weaponized, armored suit; this suit is called “Hydra Stomper.” And Steve Rogers used to use the Hydra Stomper, both Carter and Rogers fought many battles together before Steve went missing while attacking a Hydra train
Natasha further states that’s not it; there is someone inside the Hydra Stomper. It means Steve Rogers may still be alive and is inside the Hydra Stomper.
