It seems that The Matrix 4 will be back to bring back its fanbase that once existed in the 2000s. The Matrix franchise was right at the top of its popularity back then.
The Wachowskis were the mastermind behind this sci-fi cyberpunk of a movie. We saw the actors- Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Laurence Fishburne all rising to huge stardom from this film.
The entire setting of the movie was set in an imaginary world where a part of humanity existed in a simulated reality. We see Neo, also known as The One joining the defiance against the Machine Empire.
The franchise’s first trilogy ended with Neo being able to reboot the entire Matrix, and we see that he sacrificed himself while rebooting the Matrix.
It has been twenty years now, and Neo is finally back in The Matrix 4. All the fans had been waiting for another installment of the movie.
Official announcements were made back in 2019 that The Matrix 4 is in the making. Since then, the fans have been very patient, and once they got a glimpse of the movie’s clips and a teaser, the excitement just stepped up its game.

The Matrix 4 trailer and its entire breakdown.
The first trailer of The Matrix 4 is out, and the name of the movie is shown as The Matrix Resurrections. The fans had been waiting for this for a long time now. If you have not watched the trailer yet, then here it goes.
As the trailer starts, we get to see Keanu Reeves as Thomas Anderson or Neo. He is om therapy with Neil Patrick Harris, an analyst. The looks of Neo resemble Keanu Reeves’ John Wick’s character with a face full of beard and long hair. This change is looking good for the movie as it states that it has been a long time since the events of The Matrix had actually happened.
We also see a black cat meowing at the desk of the therapist. This brings a deja vu to the earlier times. We had seen a similar scene in the first film of the trilogy.
Neo mentions to the therapist that he has been seeing dreams which were not just simple dreams. After this, we get to see a quick run-through of images that were shown with the tune of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane playing in the background. The images appeared blurred in the trailer, but we have got everything covered for you.
Firstly in The Matrix 4 trailer, we see Neo walking through a street, which is displayed in the complete green coding of Matrix. This coding comes to the eyes of an unknown attacker, and he openly fires on Neo. Neo uses his abilities to slow down the bullets.
The next scene which we get to see might have some connection with what we discussed right now. Neo is shown to be on his knees, and someone is holding a gun at his head. After this, we get to see the naked Matrix, which belongs to Neo, being openly surrounded by pushed by large insect-like machines.

Even over here, Neo cannot see as Bane, who Agent Smith possessed, had blinded him back in The Matrix Revolutions. There are two hands that are shown to be reaching one another, so we are hoping it could be Trinity and Neo.
We are not yet sure about Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s character. It will soon be revealed as time passes. He is shown to be dressed and looking very smart, and firing a couple of automatic guns. This scene has a vast resemblance to the highway scene in The Matrix Reloaded.
Later in the trailer, we also see that Morpheus is fighting Neo in a dojo, resembling the train fight in the first installment of the movie. Neo plays his cards, and we see an air blast where Abdul-Mateen is seen flying, thus blasting the entire dojo.
There are parts of the trailer of The Matrix 4 which show us that Neo has gone to visit his therapist. This part indicates that he is still stuck in the Matrix even after such a long period of time. He feels that something wrong is happening to the world, which drives him crazy.
He sees a few signs which he feels are a bit weird. For example, he sees a flock of birds flying around in the sky and making concentric patterns.
The others around him are not able to take their eyes and attention off their tablets and phones. Lana Wachowski has presented these scenes beautifully, which also depicts the present condition in today’s world.
Neo is prescribed to have blue pills. These are the pills that make the inhabitants in the Matrix feel that their surroundings are real. Neo, however, dumps these bill pills down the drain.
This is because he wants to overcome the influence of the things that can be presumed as machine-dependent programs all around him, which also included his therapist.
The red pill is the one that brings people out of the hold of the Matrix. Neo is seen to take this red pill from Abdul-Mateen.

There is another scene in The Matrix 4 trailer which shows that Trinity is shaking hands with Neo in a coffee shop. The entire scene made it feel as if they were meeting for the first time.
However, there seems to be some sort of a connection, and Trinity asks Neo whether they have met before. Abdul-Mateen is later seen to making a reference while talking to Neo, and he tells him that the most important thing that matters to him is there. Trinity is the reason why Neo is fighting and will never give up.
In the trailer, we find out that Trinity has managed to survive somehow after dying in The Matrix Revolutions. Neo and Trinity are shown to be running on a rooftop as they are being chased by people firing at them.
Neo stops the bullets with his abilities. As the fight goes on, we see two helicopters coming into the scene. Neo telepathically directs one of the missiles fired from one helicopter to the other.
Jessica Henwick looks amazing in the trailer. She carries the punk kind of a look with piercings and short blue hair. She has done an amazing job; it seems as we see her action sequences in the trailer.
She is running and jumping off from one roof to another as soldiers go on firing at her. There is a scene where she does a flip while she is in the air and lands on a lower roof, thus smashing it. All these showcase her commendable job in the movie.
As we reach towards the end of The Matrix 4 trailer, we see Neo goes back to his therapy sessions with Jonathan Groff. He mentions that even after all these years, it feels good to go back to where it all started- the Matrix. Stay tuned with MediaScrolls to know more about The Matrix 4.
