Episode 3 of the Stargirl season 2 takes back to the history that took place 11 years before, which tries to bring some clarity as to why JSA was once determined to be wiped out.
Mike becomes the new master of the Thunderbolt after he finds an unusual-looking pen. The pen discharges some entity that appears like a genie and asks Mike to make a wish on the pretext that he would not intend to kill anybody with this wish.
The thunderbolt is sticking to Mike, but there is resistance from Pat, who doesn’t want Mike to be part of JSA.
The need of the hour comes when The Shade manages to escape with a box that contains Eclipso after he finds it in Barbara’s possession. JSA has been considering that The Shade had killed Dr. Mid-Nite, but the latter denies that he is far from evil and he has nothing to do with Dr. Mid- Nite’s death.
The box that The Shade carried away with himself didn’t have anything surprising as expected by him. As soon as The Shade opens the box, he finds it empty and assumes that Eclipso might have escaped destroying the children.
