We are now in the dilemma of whether Beth is still alive in Ricky and Morty. The story is basically about the crazy experiments carried away by genius scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson, Morty Smith.
The initial episodes of the Rick and Morty season 5 had glimpsed us about Rick and Beth’s past, which we didn’t know much about it before that. You know that Rick’s role in Beth’s life is not that easy, is far more complicated, and this you get to know from the line “Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort.”
Now, episode 8 of season 5 has left fans in an utterly different state, though certainly the outcome will like always be as exciting and entertaining.
In the last episode, we were thrown into a deep thought that is still prevailing regarding Beth’s whether he is alive or dead; you would know all these things here.
Is Beth Still Alive in Rick and Morty?
The story in the last episode of Ricky and Morty is stuck at this point, where people are now in the dilemma of knowing whether Beth is still alive or he is dead.
Till now, we have got certain points like Rick has abandoned his daughter and returned years later. Since the very first episode of the debut season of Ricky and Morty, we were not taken to the past of Rick and Beth to the extent that we would have drawn the conclusion now itself.
This is probably that we would be introduced to their past by the next season of the show.
Now, coming back to the question of whether Beth is still alive, to answer that, let’s go back to the scene where Rick meets a younger version of himself through the hypothetical world of Birdperson’s world, and we see the Rick is disgusted to see that he has abandoned his daughter and is living alone.
This clearly points out the fact that Rick’s original Beth might have died prior to all these. But now you might be wondering then who is the Beth which we see since the start of the show Ricky and Morty, yes that Beth who is living in the alternate version whose Rick abandoned her.
Now, comes something more counter reactive when you recall a scene in one of the episodes of season 3 of Ricky and Morty that when the alternate version of Rick offers him a chance to become God, we see this when we saw the glimpse of memory from the past of Rick’s at the time of Galactic Federation.
But, the original Rick refuses, but we see that the alternate version of Rick claims for it, and we see that glimpse of Rick’s wife, Diane, and little Beth, but at that time, Rick said that these events of his memory were not true. But, later in season 5 of Ricky and Morty, we see that these were true.
Now, watching this episode of Rick and Morty, you get some brainstorming like Inception because, in this, you would be seeing entering the mind of his best friend turned Galactic Federation controlled weapon, Birdperson.
He does so in order to get attached to his old friend, and he goes deep inside his friend’s mind in order to save his own mind. In short, he is time traveling to 35 years old version of himself.
It seems quite confusing, but it isn’t; the development will occur in an orderly manner in the show, and you would get in sync with that.
Also, Rick is unable to travel anywhere without his gun since there are limitations as Birdperson’s Memory Rick could only find out what the former remembers about Rick, which makes things tough for Rick.
This episode of Ricky and Morty opens with the scene where we see Rick alone in the house when his family is out on vacation, and this means that you would be shown with heavy sci-fiction experiments titled as a la Pickle Rick.
The later part of the episode only involves Rick’s efforts of bringing his friend Birdperson back from the brink of death.
In this consciousness where Rick meets his 35-year-old version, he too becomes surprised to find that he is no longer an all-alone drunken sober, but instead, he is seen hanging out with his friends.
