A Recap of Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 2.
Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 2 has been titled “Lavender.” The title interestingly comes from the lavender fabric softener that Will uses on the team’s laundry. Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 2 deals with the rough patch that former AFC Richmond start footballer, Jamie Tartt, is going through. First, he left AFC Richmond for Manchester City and defeated his former team by scoring a goal for Manchester City.
Then, he had joined a reality show, “Lust Conquers All,” and got votes out of it after some time. His statements have made him very unpopular.
Having burnt his bridges with Manchester City and with no other team willing to take him, he is left with no other option but to try and make a comeback in AFC Richmond. He meets Ted and asks him to take him back to the team, confessing that he did the reality show just to annoy his father. Ted sympathizes with him but expresses his inability to take him back in the team.
When the photographs of their meeting flash all over social media, the team assumes it to be a sign of Jamie’s return and is furious. A team member, Sam, confronts Ted on this matter and discloses how hurt he and others were due to Ted’s behavior.
Ted assures Sam that Jamie is not returning to the team, which makes Sam a relieved man, and tells Ted how much his father trusts him.
Meanwhile, following the sessions with Dr. Sharon, AFC Richmond is now a very happy team, but also a winless one, having tied every match in the season. Ted is now torn between the welfare of his team and the sentiments of the team members.
He finally reconsiders his past decision and allows Jamie to come to Richmond’s practice session for the team’s benefit, even if it meant breaking Sam’s trust. As expected, Jamie receives a very icy response from the team members.
Roy, who was coaching his young niece’s football team, is very unsure about what he would do about himself after the end of the season. On Keelay’s insistence, he agrees to try his hand at sports commentary and becomes quite a hit after cussing on camera.
Higgins hires Dr. Sharon for the full season. However, she continues to enervate Ted with her no-nonsense attitude. All his attempts to woo her seem to fail.
However, by the end of episode 2, Sharon does seem to soften a bit. She allows Ted to call her Doc and even tells him that the name of her favorite book is “The Prince of Tides.”
