Jack Thorne’s His Dark Materials Season 3 is the third edition of the popular mystery series franchise His Dark Materials. His Dark Materials revolves around a young girl called Lyra; an orphan is living at Jordan College, Oxford.
The nick of the story is set in a parallel alternative world where Magisteriums is in charge of all the activities. Here the contrast between people’s connection to magic and their animal spirits is shown, and it is referred to here as ‘daemons.’
As the last season of the series ended with Lord Asriel’s desire to have a war against The Authority looms on the Horizon and asks for help from the angels for the same. In the His Dark Materials Season 3, we will see the war happening when the angels Balthamos and Baruch will join Lord Asriel after realizing why did the latter want to have a war.
His Dark Materials Season 3 – Renewal Status and Release Date

Though the show’s filming had begun way back in May 2021 and considering a significant amount of time for the filming and other post-production work, we may assume that the series will come with fresh episodes somewhere in the Q3 of 2022.
His Dark Materials Season 2 premiered on November 16, 2020, on HBO, and the seven-episode long season came to an end on December 28, 2020. The second season of the show was released a week prior in the UK than in the US. This is quite unsure about the same will happen with His Dark Materials Season 3.
The third season too, will be based on the trilogy book by author Philip Pullman. The final installment of the trilogy series is titled ‘The Amber Spyglass.’ His Dark Materials Season 3 will be having eight episodes, and probably the duration of the entire season will last for more than a month.

His Dark Materials Season 3 – Cast Details
Season 3, too, will return with the known faces like:
Ruth Wilson (Marisa Coulter), James McAvoy (Lord Asriel Belacqua), Simone Kirby (Dr. Mary Malone), Will Keen (Father Hugh MacPhail), Dafne Keen (Lyra Belacqua, Kade Anouka (Ruta Skadi), and Ruta Gedmintas (Serafina Pekkala).
With the existing cast, the show will also have some new members joining the cast like Jamie Ward (Father Gomez), Amber Fitzgerald Woolfe (Ama), and Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje (Commander Ogunwe).
Interestingly, it is said that Lewin Lloyd will be seen in His Dark Materials Season 3.
But, now you might be wondering that Roger’s character died in the last season but remember it is perhaps an adventurous fantasy show, and you never know who is going to make a reprise after death.
Though this news is not confirmed yet, Roger may reappear in this season as well.
Amongst the extensive voice cast of the show, the voice behind Stelmaria, actress Helen McCrory, unfortunately, passed away in April 2021.
So, a new voice actor might come on board for Stelmaria, but official confirmation about this is yet to come.

His Dark Materials Season 3 – What to Expect?
In the second season of His Dark Materials, we see back in Cittagazze that Mrs. Coulter couldn’t keep up her promise to protect Lyra after she abducts her. Mrs. Coulter seemed to be helpless after she is left unconscious and held inside a trunk.
Here, to collectively fight against The Authority looms on the horizon Lord Asriel asks for help from the angels to war against their common enemy.

But, we know that Will is now the bearer of the Subtle Knife, and this will certainly change the course of the entire plot of the season.
Father MacPhail and Father Gomez failed to track down Lyra, her friend. Lyra would be lying unconscious in the third season’s opening while she is still safe from the clutches of Father Gomez and Father MacPhail.
His Dark Materials Season 3 will also have many new, unusual fantasy creatures that were not part of the last two seasons.
Season 3 of His Dark Materials may be the last season because the show was is on Phillips Pullman’s trilogy book series, and the show’s third installment was based on the third edition of the book.
Till the time the makers of the show don’t make any further announcement regarding this, we might see His Dark Materials Season 3 as the finale.
