The Next 10 Warner Bros. Films will Also be Going to Release on HBO Max in 2022

The Streaming Giant HBO Max has decided to release its full slate of 2022 movies in Warner Bros. It seems that Warner Media is prepared to lure in their subscribers to the streaming service by releasing its ten films in 2022.

During an AT&T second-quarter earnings call, the executives have decided as their pandemic model of releasing movies in the HBO Max has been a success so far. Successful films like Godzilla Vs. Kong and Zack Snyder’s Justice League which lured in loads of subscription on HBO Max. Plus, revenue-wise generated approximately $463 million.

The Warner Media Chief now has decided that releasing the movie simultaneously as the theatrical release has developed a good amount of revenue for the company. The consumers have given a good response from their homes. So, as a result, in 2022, we will get to see Warner Bros. will be releasing ten films in the HBO Max.

Jason Kilar, the CEO of Warner Media, has stated that Warner Bros. will produce around ten films which will release on the HBO Max on the same day as its theatrical release. The decision indicates that the pandemic model which they have followed previously has been quite successful for them. Hence, they are deciding to release the subsequent ten produced films of Warner Media in HBO Max.

Kilar has also stated that the company does not want to return to its previous film release strategy. Back in earlier times during 2015-2017, the window for the release of theatrical release and home exhibition was long. They have a multi-year agreement with Cineworld for 2021 and 2022 film exhibitions and will target a theatrical window of 45 days in the future.

WarnerMedia previously faced a huge backlash when they announced that they would release most of the Warner Media films of 2021 in HBO Max on the same day as their theatrical release. The strategy was hugely criticized by famous directors such as Christopher Nolan, James Gunn, and Denis Villeneuve. But as of now, it seems that it was a successful decision for them.

Kilar has also stated that the industry will evolve and renovate itself and its strategy, which would work for the business partners and the fans and consumers.
