One Piece Episode 982 Recap and Ending

One Piece Episode 982 kicked off from where it left off in the previous episode. The title of the episode, “Kaido’s Trump Card! The Tobi Roppo Appear,” gave us the initial message that a new group will make their debut and make things worse for Luffy and the company gang.

Luffy and others continued their attack on the enemy’s fortress as they continued on their path to Onigashima.

A seemingly impenetrable first-obstacle, ‘The Torii Gate’

Denjiro explains to Kinemon and others the sheer difficulty that lies ahead in front of them. The ‘Torii Gate’ is the first obstacle, and it’s filled with guards, cannons, and other weapons.

The place is heavily guarded and is like a small fortress. Breaching Torii Gate is challenging, to begin with, and to add more problems, the guards are holding a banquet, explains Denjiro.

After hearing about the banquet, Kawamatsu fears that Kaido’s troops guarding the gate might already know about their raiding. Ashura adds that continuing any further would make them easy prey; however, Kinemeon was quick to interrupt.

He is optimistic that no one has noticed them and suggests alarming everyone on the frontline. Denjiro is a valuable ally as he quickly analyzes the situation. Formerly being on Orochi’s side, he has insights into what Kaido’s men are planning.

The Straw Hat pirates, as usual, takes the battle head-on

The moment Kinemon finished his statement, the crew realized Luffy and others had started their assault on Kaido’s men. Law gets infuriated by the fact that they always go off the books and do what suits them.

Meanwhile, Luffy uses his Red Hawk to make quick work of the guards, and seeing Luffy obliterating Torii Gate without breaking a sweat, Denjiro and all get highly impressed.

The samurais are pumped to raid Onigashima, and the Straw Hat pirates began goofing around. Seeing the carefree yet strong nature of the crew, Denjiro praises Kinenom for allying with such a dependable group.

Orochi and Kaido’s men unaware of the approaching threat

The scene shifts to Kaido’s men enjoying their banquet; however, we do get to see a certain mysterious creature, probably one of the ‘Numbers.’ Meanwhile, Orochi is also enjoying the moment, and we see him under the false impression that he has done his part to keep the alliance at bay.

On the other hand, Queen is frustrated for having to wait for red-bean soup, and the head chef tells him about Big Mom wanting the soup as the reason for the delay.

Queen quickly reminds everyone about the ‘annual Golden Festival‘ and that he is the lead performer. With that, Queen yells at the chef to give him the red-bean soup.

Kaido’s Son and the Tobi Roppo

The next scene introduces us to perhaps the newest character mentioned in the title, as he trains in the woods and appears to be quite strong. We quickly learn from Kaido that the person in the woods is none other than his son.

Next up, one of Kaido’s men informs him about the arrival of the Tobi Roppo. Kaido talks about being unaware of inviting them to the banquet but plans to introduce the group to Big Mom.

The Tobi Roppo finally enters the scene, and we get to see a sneak peek into the group members.

Scratchmen Apoo and Queen puts on a show

From what it seems, Scratchmen Apoo kicks off the ‘annual Golden Festival’ with a blistering performance and Queen steps in to up the ante. We have quite the performance from Apoo, Queen, the ‘Numbers’ and Kaido’s men that seemed to be peculiar but kind of fun at the same time.

Orochi, totally delusional, thinks the Akazaya members to be dead because of his strategy and feels there is nothing to be afraid of anymore, as he yells in ecstasy, ‘Enjoy or Die.’

Finally, we get to see the Tobi Roppo and the identities of the six members are as follows:

  • X-Drake
  • Sasaki
  • Page-One
  • Ulti
  • Who’s-Who
  • Black Maria

One Piece Episode 982 Ending

The final moments end with the Straw Hat pirates. Zoro being Zoro gets hold of a barrel of sake. The Straw Hats proceed to make a toast, and Luffy tells Jimbei that they have been waiting for him for all this time.

Jimbei responds to Luffy with words of excitement as he can’t wait to start his new journey with the group.

Law and the Akazaya members boost past Luffy and the gang to capitalize on the moment. With the first obstacle conquered, they are full of spirit and geared up to wreak havoc in Onigashima. One pIece Episode 982 ended with Luffy telling everyone of having the biggest ever after winning the battle and taking down Big Mom and Kaido before proceeding to catch up with the samurais.
