A Recap Of Episode 6 and What Can You Expect From America’s Got Talent Season 16 Episode 7?

The first act of America’s Got Talent Season 16 Episode 6 was a twirl act done by a 30-year-old using three different batons. He received four yes votes, as well as a standing ovation from the judges. The next contestant, Madilyn Bailey, sang a song originally written by her, using the hate comments from her YouTube account as lyrics. All the judges, except Heidi, were impressed. Heidi, too, was later convinced by Howie to give a yes vote.

Next to perform on the sixth evening of the auditions was Chapkidz, a dance group of thirty people aged between 12 to 18. They were inspired by the Chapkis Dance Family, a dance group that had performed in season 10, and made it up to the live show round. The judges liked their performance, and Howie even mentioned that this was a performance worthy of the semi-final.

Brooklyn performer Darrell Thorne earned himself three yes votes from Howie, Sofia, and Heidi. He did a creative lip-sync of the Elton John song “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.” Simon didn’t like the fact that Darrell was not actually singing it and hit the X buzzer. However, with three yes votes, Darell moved on to the next round.

Darell was followed by the Slinky artist Joshua Jacobs, who got three yes votes. Next were the advanced-aged dancers, Joy, and Judith, who got four yes votes. Next to hit the stage was singer Donovan, who had Broadway ready voice according to the judges.

The Stunner performed lite acrobatics and breakdancing, wearing a superhero costume, but could not impress Simon and Howie. He was out of the race with only two votes. Alex Ostrovsky, who played horns on “The Greatest of All” by Whitney Houston, failed to impress Sofia and Heidi with his special effects, and they buzzed him out.

Matt Mauser, a retired teacher, sang his version of “Against All Odds” as a tribute to his late wife, who had died in a helicopter crash. He received four yes votes from the judges. While the four judges unanimously voted the comedian, Chief, out, the comedian, Cam Bertrand, was able to impress them and got four yes votes.

Guapacharros impressed the judges with their traditional Mexican style of singing and dancing. The final audition of the season was of a nine-year-old singer Victory Brinker, who floored the judges with her beautiful operatic voice. As an appreciation for her incredible and powerful singing, the judges sent her straight to the live show round by hitting the golden buzzer together, making it the sixth golden buzzer.

Winners of The Golden Buzzers in Season 16.

In the audition rounds, every act needs at least four yes votes from the four judges panel to get to the next round, while if two or more judges buzz a performance, it is eliminated. Each of the judges and the host had a chance to hit the golden buzzer, sending the contestant directly to the live performance round.

The first golden buzzer was awarded by Howie at the premiere episode itself. He was so impressed by the performance by Northwell Nurse Choir that he instantly hit the golden buzzer.

Northwell Nurse Choir is a group of 18 nurses who had worked on the frontline in New York City during the pandemic, with the mission of helping people find their resilience, as well as spreading joy and love. Their singing included elements of beatboxing and lite rap as well.

Simon Cowell awarded the second golden buzzer that sent singer ‘Nightbirde,’ a cancer patient, straight through to the live show round. ‘Nightberde’ performed an original song, “It’s Okay,” which narrated the story of the past year of her eventful life.

Host Terry Crews was inspired to award his golden buzzer, the third one in the season, to World Taekwondo Team after they showcased the martial art form on the stage. For the group that was going to perform at the Tokyo Summer Olympics 2020, which got postponed, this was quite a gold medal moment.

For the next golden buzzer, judge Sofia Vergara teased singer Jimmie Herrod by refusing to give him a standing ovation while the other judges did. After telling him that she did not like his performance, she admitted that she was faking it and pressed the golden buzzer.

The last golden buzzer was awarded by Heidi Klum the previous week to the quick-change artist Lea Kyle. Lea changed ensembles seamlessly at the flicker of an eye and impressed the judges with her talent.

Now the new golden buzzer has been awarded to Victory Brinker who impressed the judges with her beautiful operatic voice.
