Loki Episode 3 Recap
Loki Episode 3 is titled “Lamentis” and is written by the Marvel head writer Bisha K. Ali. In Loki Episode 3, Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, and the Variant Sylvie, played by Sophia Di Martino, end up in Lamentis-1 in the year 2077, after having fleed to another timeline in the previous episode. Lamentis-1 is a deserted mining town on a new purple-colored moon, which is on the verge of facing an apocalyptic event as a nearby planet is going to crash on it. It is entirely justified as Sylvie has been using apocalyptic events to conceal her actions in the past as well.
Loki Episode 3 also reveals Sylvie to be an enchantress who had enchanted Hunter C-20, played by Sasha Lane, to extract information out of her. Meanwhile, Sylvie is annoyed to find that the Tem Pad is out of juice and has to be recharged. Loki hides the Tem Pad using his magic, but Sylvie reminds him that he needs her help recharge it. Sylvie is furious at Loki, but he soothes her and suggests that they find a way out together.
As the due proceed further, they find a dwelling where they think they might be able to charge the Tem Pad. Sylvie’s attempt to enter forcibly is foiled by the woman inside, played by Susan Gallagher, who uses a sonic weapon to blow her away. Loki uses a different strategy by transforming himself into the woman’s late husband, whose photograph he sees through the window. However, the woman sees his bluff and blows him away as well.
The woman then points to them, a train station at the end of the town, from where a train can take them to Ark. She also points out that getting tickets would not be easy. By combining their magical powers, however, they are able to enter the train. Inside the train, they have a pretty friendly talk about their parents and their love lives. Later, when Sylvie wakes up, she finds Loki in a drunk condition. She has a feeling that someone is going to show up.
Loki asks her not to get paranoid but just then, some guards turn up demanding to see their tickets. A drunk Loki is unable to use his magic to create tickets, and after a fight, he is thrown out of the train. Sylvie, too, has to jump after him because of the Tem Pad. Sylvie forces Loki to bring out the Tem Pad, only to find that it is broken. Sylvie feels very bleak and wonders if they are going to die on Lamentis-1.
Loki suggests that they walk to the Ark, and they start the long walk to Ark. When they reach the Ark, they try to dodge the guards and get to the spaceship, which is about to take off. However, their efforts yield nothing as the Ark gets hits by planetary debris and gets destroyed. They are both stunned, Loki stands there in a shocking state, and Sylvie walks away. The episode ends as “Dark Moon” by Bonnie Guitar plays along with the end credits.
