Recently announced 60 FPS Ray Tracing mode of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart won’t be an exclusive launch day patch as some fans think, confirms Insomniac Games on Twitter.
Recently, Insomniac Games revealed on their Twitter page that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart would feature a Performance Ray Tracing mode that will support 60 frames per second. In addition, the company has shared an official video giving fans a little sneak peek into its gameplay to bolster the announcement.
However, some fans got the impression that it will be an exclusive patch that will only be available on the launch date. A Twitter user asked Insomniac Games, “Wait, you only get this if you update the game day one?”

In reply, Insomniac Games cleared the confusion, letting fans know that the patch, although released on the launch day, will be available after. The official tweet read, “No, it’s just the launch day patch. It will be available moving forward from there.”
So, there is no need to worry if you don’t get the game on day one. You’ll get to enjoy all the enhancements that the company is planning, no matter when you purchase the game.
In May, Insomniac Games announced that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart would feature many accessibility features. Some of them include adjusting motion blur, fire mode, aim mode, aim assist, visual (adjusting HDR, contrast, shader, etc.).
It’s also revealed that the overall size of the game will only be 33.618GB. “Sizes are getting smaller on native PS5 games due to the compression techniques and SSD!” was the explanation James Stevenson of Insomniac Games provided on his Twitter page.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is currently available for pre-load right now for fans who have already pre-ordered it on PlayStation Store. So, you can download your game right ahead and then be able to immerse yourself in the game once it unlocks on the launch date.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be released on June 11, 2021.
