Redmi 9, also known as Redmi 9 Prime in India, has recently released an Android 11 update in China. The budget smartphone was launched in the global market at the beginning of June 2020 and in China less than a month later. Initially, it was released with MIUI 11 and was based on Android 10. However, it received an MIUI 12 update in late September. Thus, it has been updated to Android 11 almost a year after it was released.
The smartphone gained immense popularity after being launched last year. It was released in India as Redmi 9 Prime. POCO M2, which was also released in the previous year, is a clone of Redmi 9. Even the POCO version of the phone gained so much popularity that the company recently released POCO M2 Reloaded, an updated version of the previous model.
Based on the demand for the phone, people are surprised that the brand had not released an update until now. The Android 11 update is currently live in Chine with build number V184.108.40.206.RJCCNXM.
However, the latest Android 11 update is currently only available to a few selected users. This is because the new update is in its stable Beta phase and is expected to be released for everyone in China in a few days.
The Android 11 update of the Redmi 9 is also expected to be released in other parts of the world very soon. Along with that, even POCO M2 is expected to be launched everywhere in the near future. In addition, the phones also have the possibility of coming with an MIUI 12.5 update. Stay connected with MediaScrolls to find out more updates on Redmi 9 Prime and other latest technologies.
