Netflix has officially announced Enola Holmes 2, the sequel of part 1. The series of films are based on the book series penned by Nancy Springer. We will see Jack Thorne, the writer of the first movie, and Harry Bradbeer, the director, return with Millie Bobby Brown for the movie’s sequel.
Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill will again get back in their roles of Enola and her elder brother Sherlock in the upcoming installment. Netflix has confirmed the movie. The director and the writer, Hardy Bradbeer and Jack Thorne have also gathered together the entire crew for the film. The events in the film are based on the stories by Nancy Springer. There are five books which are in the series which provide plenty of materials for the film. The first movie in the series was based on the book, The Case of the Missing Marquess. We assume that the second movie will be based on the second book in the series, The Case of the Left-Handed Lady.
Writer, director, and the actors return for Enola Holmes 2.
The book series of Sherlock’s sister functions similarly, just like the way Arthur Conan Doyle wrote Sherlock’s novels. Each book follows the case-by-case manner. Hence Jack Throne and Hardy Bradbeer will not be facing a lot of challenges for tackling a new story filled with adventure. However, they have to carry on with the mystery in a big way as in the first movie; they had brought in Enola’s mother, enacted by Helena Bonham Carter. We have no idea whether the character will return in the sequel. She was linked to being a part of a radical suffragette movement.
The movie will be a kind of a feminist spin-off to the Sherlock movies in the Brexit Era. Warner Bros. Pictures earlier had plans to release the film in theatres. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they thought of laying their plans aside for the movie. At that time, Legendary Pictures, the production house behind the film, dealt with Netflix regarding the movie’s worldwide distribution rights. Finally, when the first movie was launched on Netflix, it gained immense popularity among the viewers. So there was no doubt about the next installment of the film. The first film had more than 76 million views from the subscribers of Netflix in the very first week of its release. The film had released last year in September.

Although the numbers on Netflix don’t mean a lot, many viewers have just watched the first 2-3 minutes of the movie. Many of us often do that. However, Netflix has valid numbers as to how many people have watched the film completely. Since those numbers were good, it has planned to carry ahead with the second installment of the movie on its platform.
