India is very close to enjoying the experience of the 5G mobile network. The Ministry of Communications of the Indian Government and the Department of Telecommunications has mentioned that approvals have been laid for the 5G trials. The several telecommunication companies will be allocated with their bandwidth of spectrum of 5G for the trials during this week. The companies like Airtel, Reliance Jio, and VI are in line for getting the spectrum for having proper trials throughout the country.
No one knows how long the process will continue. The authorities have also confirmed CNBC-TV18 that all the Chinese vendors will not be involved in the trials. This announcement does not seem to be a proper one at this point in time when India is very much behind in the new network market.
There have been many talks over the last few months about the rollout of the network in India. There was a lot of wait for the confirmation and allocation, but finally, it feels that it will happen soon. Reliance Jio has confirmed that they will be creating a completely homegrown network. Jio is working on making its own big MIMO and 5G Small Cell available for commercial usages. Jio’s push for the homegrown modern network actually shows the Government’s steps for Make in India and the Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Reliance Jio has been working on a homegrown 5G Network.
Bharti Airtel had confirmed a successful 5G test which was held in Hyderabad. They have said they are ready to deploy the technology and network in the market. A new network would require regular updates, which the operator will provide. People are waiting to see which bands will be used while doing the tests for the network in India. The telecom companies also have to say when they will be ready to roll out the market network. We are expecting that the new network will work on 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz. They might even work on 800 MHz and the 900 MHz bands. These bands will differ across the telecommunication services.
The new network ecosystem has been in the making in the country for some time now. Almost all the recent phone launches this year have been talking about the network, and its inclusion in the phone has been one of the prime features. Many affordable phones are ready with the network’s specifications. Thus when the new network launches, many people will be able to use it because of their phone’s support.
The Government has backed up this network building because it tries its best to make India a global hub for manufacturing. The network is going to be very smart and efficient, as it will connect the factories with the network in real-time. With the introduction of this network in the market, the fields that will get a major boost are- virtual banking, smart cities, remote medicine, augmented reality, 4K and 8K content, Big Data Analytics, IoT, and Artificial Intelligence. The network is currently available across34 countries in 378 cities.
