Euphoria is dramatic series of high school life. Euphoria was officially returning with its part 2. When Euphoria Season 1 arrived in June 2019, it was full of many controversies like thus based on high school depicting sex, drugs, violence, etc.

Before the first season had even finished in July 2019, HBO announced that they’re planning ‘Euphoria’ season 2.

Despite this, the Covid-19 pandemic suspended production for season 2 in March 2020.

HBO president Casey Boils refreshed the Deadline in September 2020. The filming began in early 2021.

Moreover, auditions for actors in season 2 started in February 2021, assuring production did start by then.

We can assume ‘Euphoria’ season 2 to be released eventually in late 2021 or early 2022.

As per the recent announcement via Variety the season 2 is expected to release in late 2021 or in early 2022 for sure. 

Initial thoughts of Rue’s future following the surreal closing scenes of season 1 (where she relapses) did establish to rest with the consequent exceptional episodes, showing us Zendaya will explore Rue’s Role, the skeptical teen fighting addiction.

Kelvin Harrison Jr. published in April 2020 that he joined the cast in the season, though it’s hard to say about his specific role.

Formerly he was supposed to feature in season 1, but due to some complications in his schedules, he couldn’t join; hence a new head role has been added to emphasize the ‘Luce’ and ‘Waves’ actors in season 2. Harrison already acted in Levinson’s dark comedy thriller ‘Assassination Nation.’

Viewers can also expect to see modulations with other casts with struggling characters; Jules (Hunter Schafer) will return as Rue’s friend and love affair. Siblings Lexi (Maude Apatow) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) would also share the screen time, Nate (Jacob Elordi), his father Cal (Eric Dane), and his to and fro relationship with girlfriend Maddy (Alexa Demie). Storm Reid resumes Gia’s role, Rue’s sister.

The rest of the cast, including Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Algee Smith, and John Ales, are also expected to explore the boundaries of their roles for season 2.

Before the announcement of season 2, the Euphoria team has released two episodes to bridge the storyline with the upcoming season. Season 1’s final episode finished in a mysterious way when Rue fell and got thrust into a surreal symphonic rhapsody that left some fans to establish the character was dead.

The season 2 plot is interestingly surprising, and the most significant of which was by Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie on the show.

Storm Reid – who plays Rue’s younger sister – said that the show is for your interpretation and people kept asking her whether she’s dead or not. The questions viewers have with the 8th episode will be revealed in a few starting episodes of the new season.
