The massively popular Netflix original, The Crown Season 5, is back on the floors! The show, which is produced by Left Bank, is finally about to start shooting its fifth season in July. There will be a totally new cast to portray the roles of royal figures, as revealed by sources like Variety.

Earlier on, actress Elizabeth Debicki of Tenet fame was seen in the character of Princess Diana, while Dominic West played Prince Charles. Lesley Manville was seen as Princess Margaret, and the queen was played by Imelda Staunton.

As revealed by reports, the crew has started making their way towards the north of London, Elstree Street, where most of the previous season was filmed. They are hopeful of setting the camera rolling once again in July, along with following Covid safety protocols. By that time, it is expected the UK will start becoming more normal after their third national lockdown on 12th April.

The filming of the previous 4th season was finished in March 2020, just when the first nationwide lockdown in the UK happened. The left bank was supported by Sony, and they were able to release the show for their November 2020 debut, just on time. In the fourth season, this Peter Morgan show saw new vitality, with Emma Corrin being seen as Princess Diana. It won many awards, including Golden Globe and SAG awards.

During Netflix’s TUDUM event, Netflix has announced that The Crown season 5¬†will be premiering its first episode on the streaming platform in November 2022.

Although no specific date has been given so far, the production for season 5 is already underway, and the production on season 6 is also expected to begin sometime in 2022.

The Crown Season Season 6 Updates

The Crown is expected to declare its end with Season 6 by early 2022, after a little back and forth. This implies the impossibility of seeing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle coming into the show. Recently Harry expressed his feelings on the show in an interview with James Corden.

He said that, of course, it’s fiction though being loosely based on that lifestyle. It gives a faint idea of how service and duty are put ahead of everything, including family, and how that works.
