The Batman film by Matt Reeves starring Robert Pattinson will be set on Earth-2 timeline. The new report claims that the upcoming movie will be based on the Earth-2 timeline. Most of you who aren’t aware of the Earth-2 timeline will make it simple for you. In the earth-2 timeline, the origin story is similar to the earth-1 timeline, except here, the events unfold in a more real-time fashion. Here in earth two, Batman doesn’t have any no guns policy and also had a machine gun mounted on his Batplane.
Here in Earth 2, Batman is still in his early years as the vigilante and figuring out how to make sure that Gotham city is safe from the criminals. Also, factoring the main villain’s story in the upcoming movie Riddler, the film will feature other well-known characters like Penguin (Colin Farrell) and Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz). Commissioner Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) and Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis).
Warner Bros. pivots its superhero efforts in DCEU, and as per the reports, it is confirmed that The Batman will be set in the Earth-2 universe. Additionally, another report from THR states that except for The Batman film, DC is planning its movie and tv shows based on the same universe. This means the new solo Batman movie will be an outliner and will not be connected from the rest of the DC movies.
Ben Affleck’s return as the Batman explains the possibility of Earth-2 timeline in Robert Pattinson’s Batman in DCEU. Ben Affleck was earlier gone from DCEU, but he again returned through Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The film was just released last month and has received an overwhelming response from the fans. The actor returned from some reshoots like the Knightmare timeline scene and the Martian Manhunter scene at the end of the film.

After Snyder Cut’s success, it is safe to assume that Ben Affleck will continue his arc in the DCEU. But the most exciting thing is that if the reports are accurate, then there might be a possibility of both these worlds Earth-1 and Earth-2, colliding for an epic crossover; as fans, we would love to see that happen.
But for now, the new Batman film starring Robert Pattinson will build his mini-universe since there are some differences in the characteristic of both earth-1 and earth-2 versions of Batman. Compared to Ben Affleck’s Batman, Robert Pattinson’s Batman is in his early stage as the Caped Crusader so that Warner Bros. may develop his character for some years. But first, he would have to come to terms with his family about their involvement in Gotham’s corruption, which he will learn in this movie.
The film will be directed by Matt Reeves and written by Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin. Here are the detailed cast details: Robert Pattinson as The Batman(Bruce Wayne), Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman(Selina Kyle), Colin Farrell as The Penguin(Oswald Cobblepot), Paul Dano as The Riddler(Edward Nashton), John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson. The movie is expected to arrive on March 4, 2022.
