The release date of the Mortal Kombat movie has been delayed by one week. The fans waiting eagerly for this new classic full-on action-packed movie had to wait a bit longer now. The remake movie of A famous fighting video game by Warner Bros showed a positive response from its trailer release previously. The trailer was full of brutal action, and also it helped the characters of this film get a good look.

Originally the film was planned to get released on the big screens at the start of 2021. But Warner Bros has now delayed the release of the movie to April 2021. You can watch the film on HBO Max, and it was planned earlier that all of the new WB films would be released simultaneously on HBO Max as well in the theaters parallelly.

What is the new Release Date of Mortal Kombat?

What could be the reason behind delaying the Release of Mortal Kombat?

According to our assumptions, this delay for the Mortal Kombat movie was made because Warner Bros just released one of its most anticipated movies this year, Godzilla vs. Kong. The Mortal Kombat movie was initially set to release two weeks after Godzilla vs. Kong. Still, and as the studio’s current release Godzilla vs. Kong, is performing exceptionally in the international market, the studio has decided to delay the release date of the Mortal Kombat movie so that both the film can perform well.

The theaters are expected to open up. As more vaccinations of COVID-19 are available now, we think by the time the Mortal Kombat film will release, people will be able to watch the movie in theaters, and at least in some countries, COVID-19 cases are low.

Black Widow movie was also earlier delayed to July 2021. With Mortal Kombat’s delay, the film will get three weeks as the most significant new movie till the release of ‘Spiral: From the Book of Saw’ which is expected to release on May 14, 2021. Since this new video game movie’s budget is around $50 million, it is most likely to get a hit tag if it can impress the fans. As the film will also release on HBO Max at the same time as in the theaters, it will be significantly benefitted. And if it succeeds, it will mark a significant impact in the pop culture landscape.
