Star Wars: The Bad Batch trailer has released finally, and the trailer shows a glimpse of this galaxy-spanning action animated TV series which Dave Filoni will direct. The show will be released on Disney+, and it will feature the Clone Force 99 – also known as “The Bad Batch” – a genetically reconstructed team of enhanced clone soldiers first featured in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7.
The Star Wars: The Bad Batch is expected to release on May 4, 2021. The show already has high expectations from the fans as it is set in the timeline after the Clone Wars’ end and the Galactic Empire’s beginning.
The series will showcase Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair’s early days, beginning on their dangerous secret mission around the galaxy as an elite group of soldiers for hire. This show’s period is set between the timeline of “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope”; these are less explored on-screen eras of Starwars.
The Bad Batch will give some interesting insights on the early days of Empire; both The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels have received appreciation from the fans during their runs. Therefore, as we said in the above paragraph, the expectations from the fans are high.
The new ‘The Bad Batch’ trailer has shared a fair amount of glimpses on what to expect from this new animated series of Disney+. Clone Force 99 is shown in the trailer as performing training exercises on Kamino under Grand Moff Tarkin’s guidance before abandoning their posts and afterward going on the run from the Imperial force.

From the trailer, we can assume that maybe Tarkin will be the show’s primary antagonist and constantly seeking the Bad Batch as an essential asset of the Imperial military. The Mandalorian’s Fennec Shand also appears a solid bit throughout the trailer and voiced by Ming-Na Wen. However, the Bounty hunter is very much younger during this time. And even in the trailer, we saw some glimpse of Captain Rex as well, and as the timeline of ‘The Bad Batch’ is set between “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope,” so we can expect a lot of legendary Star Wars characters making a cameo in the series as well.
Although the fans’ response on Clone Force 99 in The Clone Wars season 7 was not impressive, some even raised concerns regarding the development of the characters in the series and even said whether they would be able to carry an entire show or not.
But this new trailer Star Wars: The Bad Batch seems impressive, and with Filoni and other Star Wars veterans at the helm, the characters of ‘The Bad Batch’ are Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair are expected to get adequately developed. As per the fans’ response, there are plenty of things to get excited about for this new Disney+ animated series.
